Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you enjoyed the chat, I most surely did. I would like to thank Liz for sharing Alistair with us and Ms. Morgan for dreaming him up for us to enjoy. I am looking forward to reading his story.

DragonKnightsAxe_w9181_750Alastair MacKay hails from DRAGON KNIGHT’S AXE, book 3 in the Order of the Dragon Knights series by Mary Morgan.

Battled scarred, Dragon Knight, Alastair MacKay, has fled to the seas to separate himself from his powers that are connected to the land. Yet, when he rescues a woman from a slave trader in Ireland, he steps back inadvertently into a world filled with magic—taking on the role of protector and leading him on a journey to confront his greatest fears.

Research assistant, Fiona O’Quinlan loves translating ancient artifacts at Trinity College. When she falls asleep on an archeological dig, she awakens in another time. She soon discovers a Dragon Knight’s relic has been entrusted into her care. Determined to return the artifact to the Great Glen, Fiona is unprepared for the danger ahead—losing her heart and soul to Alastair “Beast” MacKay.

Will their love be strong enough to soothe the beast and heal the man? Or will Death swing its axe, leaving them lost for all eternity?

He would get the truth out of her. She was now his. Bought and paid for.

His anger simmered just below the surface, and he allowed his eyes to flash with the fire of the dragon. Hearing her gasp, he smiled. Good, little bird. Fear me. Without giving her time to react, he swept her up and dumped her over his left shoulder, and strode to the ship.

He heard her sharp intake of breath, and then she started to pound against his back. “Put…me down,” she demanded.

“Nae.”

She started to kick, and he clenched his jaw in frustration. The little bird had talons. He responded with a smack to her bottom, but instead of removing his hand, he kept it against her soft curves. “I will put ye down when we are on my ship.”

She went completely still, and then she screamed.

Alastair dumped her onto the ground. “For the love of Brigid, did ye have to yell into my ear?”

Fiona rubbed at her bottom and then stood. “You beast,” she spat out at him. Jumping onto a nearby boulder, she looked directly into his eyes. “Don’t you ever touch me like that again.”

Alastair yanked her to his chest by her arms, his face mere inches from hers. “And what are ye going to do?” He watched as her eyes widened in alarm. Blue eyes that reminded him of the sky on warm summer days. Then his gaze traveled down to her lips, red as berries.

Instantly, his beast roared to life. Claim one kiss, Alastair.

“I will slit your throat,” she whispered.

Releasing his hold, his beast laughed, mocking him. He stared at her for a few moments before turning away. Stalking over to the ship, he climbed up the ladder.

Author Bio

I am a constant daydreamer and have been told quite often to remove my head from the clouds. Yet, this is where I find the magic to write my stories. Not only do I love to weave a good tale, but I have a voracious appetite for reading. I worked for Borders Books for almost fourteen years. Imagine my delight to be surrounded by so many books, talking to others about them, and getting paid.

Pure bliss!

I have traveled to England, Scotland, Ireland, and France. There are those who know me well when I say, “My heart is in the Highlands.” I believe I have left it there or maybe in Ireland.

When not writing, I enjoy playing in my garden—another place where magic grows. Of course, there is time spent with my family. They are the ones that keep me grounded.

To start you on the journey into her book world, Ms. Morgan has graciously giving away Alastair’s story, 1 signed book for the US and 1 ebook for international.

The 2 lucky readers will be chosen by Sexy Mr. Random from the comments after 3pm EST Monday, November 2, 2015. GOOD LUCK!

Until next time read a book, listen to a book and don’t forget to show your love by leaving a review!

My Chat with Amy Jarecki

Hello and welcome!

Today I have a sweet and incredibly talented author whose books I discovered not long ago and have been listening to the audiobooks with a voracious appetite. I say keep them coming 😀

Please welcome Amy Jarecki!

Amy Jarecki Head Shot_Smaller

A descendant of an ancient Lowland clan, Amy adores Scotland. Though she now resides in southwest Utah, she received her MBA from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Winning multiple writing awards, she found her niche in the genre of Scottish historical romance, writing steamy edge-of-your-seat action adventures with rugged men and fascinating women who weave their paths through the brutal eras of centuries past.

When time is available, she lectures on writing topics at conferences across the US.

Facebook Banner 12-2014 3D - Enhanced for Presentations1

Amy’s first published novel, now titled “Boy Man Chief“, won the League of Utah Writers award for Best Manuscript, and the St. George Spark Book Award. Since then, she has won many other writing awards. In November 2014, her novel, “Captured by the Pirate Laird” hit #24 on Amazon’s top 100 bestseller list. She’s also a “crowdsourced” winning author through Amazon’s Kindle Scout Program.

Do you have a nickname?
laughing I’d like to say no. But my family doesn’t allow anyone to slip by without a bevy of nicknames. My dad calls me LBTWAJG (LB for short). It stands for Little Bitty Teeny Weeny Amy Janer’s Gal. blushing My brother calls me Elf. My mother calls me Prunella Sue, and Prune Face when she’s irritated with me. LOL

What is one word best describes you?
Perseverant.

What makes you laugh out loud?
So many things. I love to laugh!

What is your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Chocolate chip cookies in the oven. Reminds me of Christmas!

Favourite place to spend time in.
Scotland. I go every couple of years.
It is on my bucket list and seeing the pics you post from your travels make me want to go ever more.

Dunottar Castle-Stonehaven-Scotland

My fave pic is of Dunottar Castle, Stonehaven.

Is there a genre that you refuse to read?
I can’t read horror, else I have nightmares.
Me neither *shiver*

Writing! What started it?
I’ve written all my life, but I started my first novel in the late 90’s after reading a Tom Clancy book. Believe it or not, my manuscript was a thriller—and awful!

If you could choose another career what would it be?
I used to be a general manger for a large corporation. I imagine I’d still be working in big business.

Audiobooks! How do you choose the best voice for your stories?
That’s hard, though there are more narrators signing up with ACX every day. I have been really happy with Dave Gillies from Glasgow. He has a Scottish accent that’s easy to understand, and he’s narrating the Highland Dynasty Series for me.
You did mentioned him when we chatted and I agree, he does have an amazing voice.

Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?
Of course, my books are romances with happy endings, but I always try to weave in historical events and accuracies about the characters whenever possible.

Who is your intended audience and why should they read your books?
My audience is readers of historical romance. If they like action adventures set in the Highlands with rugged men and fascinating women, they might like my stories.

What is next in your writing?
So much is going on right now. I’m writing a series about the first Jacobite uprising for my agent, and I’m also writing a time-travel series that takes place during the time of William Wallace. I don’t have release dates yet—but will soon!
Looking forward to more!

Thank you for inviting me on your blog today!
It was a delight Amy! Thank you for joining me in my little corner of the blogging world.

I was browsing on youtube, because I am curious that way LOL and found this gem:

Ms. Jarecki got the rights back for it and it will be re-released soon with a new cover.

Virtue

Sheltered, raised in rural Utah, Zoe Marshall has never heard of the Mayan Prophecy of the Golden Goddess—but she’s about to. At the moment she’s thrilled to have landed her dream job dancing on a cruise ship where she meets Belizean Gabriel AhKin. The sizzling bartender stirs her passion. When the ship docks in Belize, Zoe disappears—spirited into the bowels of a Mayan cult led by a reclusive fanatic. After the madman sees her, he divines Zoe is the Golden Goddess. She is “the one” to fulfill the prophecy. Now Gabriel’s driving obsession is to rescue the woman who’s captured his heart.

Sounds like a good story, no? I am looking forward to reading it or if it comes out in audio, listening to it.

Another story that sounds really good is the “Rise Of A Legend“, book 1 in the Guardian of Scotland Series, coming November 5, 2015.

Legend-cover

Running away from her catastrophic life, historical journalist Eva MacKay joins an archaeological dig at the battleground of Loudoun Hill. Unearthing the seal of William Wallace, Eva gains notoriety. But her dreams of Bowie knives—the weapon that murdered her husband—morph into great swords and dirks.

Drawn to a ruined monastery, Eva drifts into the worst nightmare of all. Awaking to the sharp point of a madman’s sword, she’s hurled into the midst of a bloody thirteenth century battle. Just when certain death is eminent, brutal arms surround the lass, dragging her deeper into unknown terror.

When Eva realizes she’s been hauled to the hideout of rebel William Wallace, a revelation dawns—she’s landed the story of a lifetime—if she can stay alive and find a way home to tell her tale.

What she doesn’t count on is her mounting chemistry with the greatest legend Scotland has ever known…or the absolute love swelling in her heart.

To start you on the journey into her book world, Ms. Jarecki is giving away the audio version of Knight in Highland Armor , book 1 in Highland Dynasty series, narrated by Dave Gillies. What a story and what a voice giving it life, I cried at the scene where he is singing the farewell song at the hero’s Father’s funeral, breathtaking.

KIHA-Audio

In 15th century Scotland, Gyllis Campbell arrives at the Beltane festival with one thing on her mind – to win the heart of Sir Sean MacDougall once and for all. Astonishingly, Sir Sean would like nothing more than to oblige the lovely lass. But when news of his father’s death arrives, Sean races for Dunollie Castle. Unaware of Sean’s tragedy, Gyllis departs the festival thwarted. Worse, a terrible illness strikes her down, and she’s sent to the cloisters of Ardchattan Priory for healing.

Plagued by raids on his lands and deception in his ranks, Sean is embroiled in a battle to regain control. Worse, pulled in a myriad of directions, adversity runs rampant as Gyllis struggles to regain her health and Sean battles the very demon who covets his title. Fighting for their lives, both must face their demons before their love can blossom.

I finished listening to it last week, I loved it, find my 5-star review here.

The winner will be chosen from the comments by Sexy Mr. Random after 3pm EST on Monday, October 26, 2015. GOOD LUCK!

Until next time read a book, listen to a book and don’t forget to show your love by leaving a review!

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed the chat with Trent.

Dance-Ballerina-Dance

He hails from “Dance Ballerina, Dance” by one of my fave authors, M. A. Abraham.

Diamond Taylor didn’t think twice about what she was going to do when she heard her grandmother was on her deathbed. She immediately took a leave of absence from her position as Prima Ballerina and boarded a plane for Sydney and home. She wasn’t prepared for what she found when she got there, a dying grandmother, a grieving grandfather, and both prepared to do whatever it took to make sure she was matched with their neighbor who they had all but adopted.

Trent was doing everything he could do to help his neighbors, they were like family to him and his wards considered them equivalent to grandparents. It was such a tragedy that the only member of their own family didn’t care enough to bother coming to be by their side, though that was about to change. The last thing he expected was someone like Diamond Taylor and his reaction to the dark-haired beauty. She was a complication he didn’t need in his life, but couldn’t help reaching for with both hands.

Diamond and Trent took one look at each other and it was hate at first sight, or was it? No matter what, they were being railroaded into an unwanted marriage by her matchmaking grandparents and the truce they declared to make the last days of her grandmothers life happy were about to bind them in ways neither expected. The question was, could they make it continue to work later, when there was no reason left to pretend?

CHAPTER I

There were eight of them in total, all teenaged Human females stretched out in the grass. They were hidden in the rocks, close to the summit of a foothill, watching the young, winged Tantalarian males play an aerial game with a ball far overhead. Not one girl was standing guard to make sure they weren’t about to get caught, and they were getting frustrated by the lack of technology at their disposal. The Tantalarian men were too far away to see clearly without a really good set of binoculars, or a telescope. They had neither; although one did have a weak set of binoculars that they took turns trying to focus to get a clearer view.

“Jean, can’t you find something better to use than these binoculars? They are barely functional. Damn, this is frustrating.”

“If you aren’t satisfied with what we have, I know six others girls…

As Ben mentioned, his book, Abducted, is the first in the Texas Rangers: Special Ops series by an amazing duo who make up T.C. Archer, Evan Trevane and Shawn M. Casey (aka Tarah Scott), where science fiction and horror collide… and a little suspense now and then, too.

But Liz didn’t count on her date being an undercover Texas Ranger who is investigating a human trafficking ring. She also didn’t count on being kidnapped and trafficked herself.
When Texas Ranger Ben Hunter slips away from Liz Monahan at the gala and begins his investigation, he couldn’t be more surprised to arrive in Juarez, Mexico to find her held captive by infamous human trafficker Carlos Sanchez. In order to save her, Ben must commit murder. Hers.

My Chat with Diana Cosby

Hello and welcome!

Today I have an author whose books I love a lot. She is also an amazing photographer and she shares her photos with her readers. My favourite pictures are of Liam, he just makes me smile.

8 - 11 - 2015 Liam and day lily

A retired Navy Chief, Diana Cosby is an international bestselling author of Scottish medieval romantic suspense. Books in her award-winning MacGruder Brothers series are translated in five languages. Diana has spoken at the Library of Congress, Lady Jane’s Salon in NYC, and appeared in Woman’s Day, on USA Today’s romance blog, “Happy Ever After,” MSN.com, Atlantic County Women Magazine, and Texoma Living Magazine.
After her career in the Navy, Diana dove into her passion – writing romance novels. With 34 moves behind her, she was anxious to create characters who reflected the amazing cultures and people she’s met throughout the world. With the release of her first two books in her new Scottish medieval The Oath Trilogy, An Oath Taken and An Oath Broken, both which hit bestseller lists in the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom, as well as the release of the eBoxSet of the MacGruder Brothers series, she is now preparing for the release of the last book in The Oath trilogy, An Oath Sworn on 23 December, 2015!
Diana looks forward to the years of writing ahead and meeting the amazing people who will share this journey.

diana-cosby-pic

Welcome Diana Cosby!

What is one word best describes you?
Determined, focused.

What makes you laugh out loud?
Witty dialogue.

What is your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
I love the smell of horses. It reminds me of living in Alaska where I worked at a riding stable and often rode over the tundra with incredible views of the ocean beyond.

Favourite place to spend time.
As an amateur photographer, I love seeing what photos I can take, which can be birds, flowers, bugs, to out-of-the box pictures. I often share photos that I take on my Facebook Author page.

Is there a genre that you refuse to read?
For me, a good story is exactly that. Each genre offers a unique story focus.

Writing! What started it?
I’ve read romance novels since my teens. When I retired from the Navy, I decided to try my hand at writing the stories that I loved.

If you could choose another career what would it be?
It’s a toss-up between painting pictures and photography. I love both!

Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?
I have a general theme in all of my stories — all is not what it seems. In addition, my hope is that readers will be inspired by my characters and the struggles they overcome to believe in themselves and dare to go after their own dreams.

Who is your intended audience and why should they read your books?
My intended audience is readers who enjoy Scottish medieval romantic suspense wrapped around the history of the story’s timeframe.

What is next in your writing?
Next in my writing is the release of “An Oath Sworn“, book 3 in the bestselling “The Oath Trilogy” in December. Colyne and Marie’s story is a book of my heart, and I sincerely hope my readers will enjoy it as well.

Tell us about your current charity project.
One of my passions is that of giving back and helping others. As a volunteer for Habitat For Humanity, one day I was thinking how romance readers are AMAZING as is Habitat for Humanity. So, I thought, why not pair the two and help a deserving family receive a home? And, Diana Cosby’s Romance Reader’s Build A Habitat for Humanity Home fundraiser was born.
I contacted the Habitat For Humanity office in Grayson County, Texas, where I’ve had the honor of helping with several builds and spoke with Laurie Mealy, Executive Director. She embraced the project, and was thrilled at the thought of pairing romance readers, who love stories where heroes and heroines overcome challenges to make their dreams come true, with making the dream of home ownership for a deserving family a reality.

How it works:
As readers send contributions to Habitat for Humanity of Grayson County for the Romance Readers Build A Habitat For Humanity Home project, the home on the upper right side of their homepage on their website will fill in. The goal is to fund an entire home – $55,000. Donations can be sent via PayPal using the ‘Donate Link,’ or donate funds by mailing a check or money order to: Habitat for Humanity of Grayson County, 901 N. Grand Avenue, P.O. Box 2725, Sherman, TX 75091

I kicked off the challenge by donating $200. I have total faith that romance readers together are an unstoppable force, and as the stories they love, they will leave a deserving family with a happy ending.

Goal: Raise $55,000 to build a Habitat For Humanity Home. Now—$6,335!
That is such a great cause Diana!

My sincere thanks for having me as a guest author today. I appreciate everyone who stopped by. Take care, and my deepest wish is that you believe in yourself and dare to go after your dreams!

Thank you Diana for taking the time for a chat with me! Looking forward to more books and more pictures of Liam 😉

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks for joining me on this chat and I hope you enjoyed reading it. You probably remember me mention Ms. Cosby’s name when I had one of my book boyfriends, Sir Nicholas, from An Oath Taken, book 1 in The Oath Trilogy, for a chat in March 2015.
Ms. Cosby is not only a gifted writer, amazing photographer, but also a truly caring person. Check out the interview on one of my fave blogs, Booktalk with Eileen, where she shares another of her humanitarian projects.
Diana has many passions in life, but one that resonates in her life is that of giving. She firmly believe that each of us can make a positive difference in another person’s life.  She supports many, among them are:
