My Chat with Tracy Marks

Guess who came for a chat? The awesome Tracy Marks, that’s who! 😀

I recently discovered her works, quite by accident I might add, but I am so happy I did.

Do you have a nickname?
I have a couple, but my favorite is that my boyfriend calls me Pancake instead of Honey or Baby.
I would like to hear the story behind that some day, was there whipped cream involved? 😉

What is one word best describes you?
Just one? Ooo that’s hard! Indecisive? 🙂

What makes you laugh out loud?
Lots of things! I love to laugh, and a good movie or book will make me laugh out loud. My boyfriend and I are also total goofballs together, and he makes me laugh on a daily basis.

What is your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
I love the smell of lilacs, it reminds me of growing up. There were a bunch of lilacs on the street of my childhood home, and it’s the sweetest smell during the summer.

Favourite place to spend time in.
I’m a bit of a homebody, I love relaxing at home with my pup and my man.

Is there a genre that you refuse to read?
Nope. I’m voracious and varied in my reading habits… listening habits really, since I consume most books in audio form.

Audiobooks! What started them?
I’ve been acting onstage in film for years, and another actor friend of mine got into audiobooks several years ago. We were out for a drink and she was describing the process to me, and I remember just thinking, “Yes! I want to do this!” I went home that night and started looking into how to get started in audiobook narration.
I am glad you did and I am sure your many fans will agree with me.

Is there a genre that you would not narrate?
Not really! I may say no to a book here or there, but it’s on a case by case basis. There’s no genre that I would say a blanket no to.

If you could choose another career what would it be?
I think part of the reason I became an actor is because there are a ton of careers that interest me! One thing that I would have really loved to get into is dog training. I love animals, and dogs have a very special place in my heart.

Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?
My goal with every book is to honor and translate the author’s tone and vision. So hopefully the emotion and message changes from book to book. I’ve done a lot of dark romance, and I think part of why I’ve been successful in that is that I can bring a strength but also a vulnerability to my work.

Who is your intended audience and why should they listen to your audiobooks?
Romance readers/listeners! I’ve been lucky enough to work with some incredible authors, so I would say people should listen to my audiobooks because they’ll hear some really great stories.

What is next in your narrating work?
I have several projects coming up! Next out will be Destiny on Ice, a really fun hockey rom-com by S.R. Grey. Then I have a historical romance novella by Lauren Smith and a hilarious, sexy paranormal romance by Eve Langlais.

Elusive by L.A. Fiore was released a couple of days ago; Possession by A.M. Johnson, and LaClaire Nights by Dori Lavelle will be coming out soon. I’ve got more projects scheduled for the late summer and fall – it’s been a busy year!

So far I listened to Boston Underworld series by A. Zavarelli and it is a darker theme than my usual listen but I am so glad I took a chance. I gobbled them up, I came to love Ms. Marks’ extraordinary voice, so flexible and so much passion and I think it has a lot to do with my enjoyment of the stories, 5 stars across the board. My Chat with Xavier, Marco and Sebastian *sigh*

Today’s chat is so exciting I can barely contain myself.

I give you not one, not two, but three book boyfriends that I met a little over a year ago while listening to the first audiobook in the series. It was instant love that grew as I listened to all the books after. Even though all three are on my book boyfriend list, and love them each for different reasons, Marco is my fave, he is such an irreverent flirt, but shhhh don’t tell on me …  I am waiting at their door to be let in … here they come 😉

Do you have a nickname?
X: Well, Elaine calls me “doctor” but that usually only when she’s pissed.
M: Uh, nickname? Not so much, but you can call me “lover.”
S: Master, will do just fine.

What is one word best describes you?
X: I’d have to say devoted.
M: Is great ass one word or two?
S: Confident.

Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
X: Since I just got back from the office, I’m in my suit with my tie undone waiting for Elaine to get home.
M: Wearing? Was I supposed to be wearing something?
Not on my account, I kinda like the view I grin and he laughs
S: I’m relaxed, in my jeans and t-shirt, waiting for Elaine to get home. We have a special treat for her.

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
X: I think since it’s Elaine telling the story, we really can’t argue with how she sees us. But it’s hard to looking in the mirror regardless. So yes, I think she portrayed me accurately–the good, the bad and the ugly.
M: She tried, but there aren’t words to describe just how great my ass is.
S: For the most part, but since she only told the story from Elaine’s perspective, I would have loved for her to tell the story from mine, so that Elaine would know just how much she means to me.

What makes you laugh out loud?
X: Marco

S: Marco
I agree, Marco is quite funny, made me burst out laughing quite a few times.

What is your favourite dessert?
X: Honey-coated Elaine
M: Chocolate-covered Elaine
S: Elaine’s Nutella-covered tits
Oh I remember that from when you returned from Paris…. I am looking around for something to fan myself with… is it hot in here?

What is your favourite drink?
X: Vodka
M: Cognac
S: Scotch

What is your greatest fear?
X: Losing Elaine
M: Losing each other
S: That stupid fucking society

What is your favourite colour?
X: Red
M: Blue
S: Blue

What do you wear when you go to sleep?
X: I used to sleep in boxers, but ever since Elaine came into our lives I sleep in the nude.
M: Me too.
S: Same here.

What is the perfect romantic date?
X: The four of us spending the night at home in bed.
M: The four of us breaking some rules at the Louvre.
S: Tying Elaine up and teasing her until she begs.

How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
X: Not very.
M: Extremely. My feet especially.
S: I’m not, but Marco is.

What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
X: Elaine, because it reminds me of her.
M: Chocolate pound cake
S: I’m going to have to say the way Elaine smells after we’ve each claimed her. That scent is quintessentially us.

When you look at a woman what catches your interest?
X: They usually don’t catch my attention. That’s what made Elaine so special.
M: Whether or not she smile. Miserable people make me sad.
S: Tits.

Do you have somebody in your life now?
X: No, I have three special people.
M: Me too.
S: Me too.

What is one word best describes her?
X: Loving
M: Strong
S: Confident

Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
X: Our story is a completed trilogy. I believe Renea may write a spin off in the future, but for now we’re enjoying our life with each other.
I hope she does, I want more of your story.

The three hunks hail from The Good Doctor trilogy and a short by Renea Mason. My love affair started last year in March when I visited Mary Menage‘s blog who was hosting the 2016 MENAGE SPRING TOUR and I won the first book in audio format and the rest is history. They are narrated by the award winning duo, Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard. You have to listen to them A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! voices, the passion they add and the chemistry is incredible.

My reviews:
book 1, “Curing Doctor Vincent”, it won quite a few awards and after listening to it I agree.

“WOW WOW WOW”
Overall 5 stars – Performance 5 stars – Story 5 stars
If I could give a few more stars for the performance, I would. My first duo narration and OMG they delivered. Ms. Deward and Mr. Levine’s voices are amazing, the various accents, the emotions, the passion with which they delivered the story is spectacular, very realistic. I listened to some parts more than once.
This was my first book by Renea Mason and I have to say, I am hooked. Great story, kept me on my toes, I like that I can’t predict what comes next and that it evoked an wide array of emotions. I already purchased the next one in the series 😀

book 2, “Surviving Doctor Vincent”

“Even better”
Overall 5 stars – Performance 5 stars – Story 5 stars
I thought the first book in the series was really good, and it is, but this 2nd book is off the charts. As I listened to the story unfold I was amazed how it evolved and more secrets were revealed especially at the end WOW what a twist. Poor Elaine! Will she survive another revelation? I can’t wait to find out, and hopefully it will be in the next book.
The relationship between her and Xavier is combustive, adding Sebastian and Marco is even more so. All 3 add to the mix and she is one lucky woman. Fanned my face at the hot scenes. Again the duo narrating this book made this experience one that will stay with me for a while. The accents, the emotions, the powerful delivery is just amazing. It felt like I was there and experienced all the emotions, the pain, the laughter the characters felt and saw what they saw. Thank you!

book 3, “Loving Doctor Vincent”

“Intense”
Overall 5 stars – Performance 5 stars – Story 5 stars
I am sorry to see the journey end, I rather enjoyed tagging along Elaine and her men. This last book was quite intense with suspense mixed with hot erotic scenes , twists and truths revealed.
The narrators are amazing, so much passion, made the story almost real. Addictive for sure.

Overall 5 stars – Performance 5 stars – Story 5 stars
An hour of delicious and hot, this story is perfect for a quickie listen and get a fix of the sexy voices of this duo recounting how X, Marco, Sebastian rock Elaine’s world. Fan required 😉

Adventure in the book world – Romancing the Falls 2017

Hello and welcome!

This post has been a long time coming since the Romancing the Falls author reader event was on May 20, 2017. But you know how it is, life gets in the way of fun sometimes.

The event was aaaaawesome! Kudos to Freya Barker and her team for organizing this fabulous event.

As you can see from the banner, it was quite an incredible lineup of authors. I got to see and hug some of my fave authors I met at previous events: Marianne Maguire, Freya Barker, Kali Willows, Tricia Daniels, Rosanna Leo, Felicity Kates, Kayleigh Malcolm.

And I got to cross off a few from my bucket list of ‘authors to meet’. When I saw their names on the list I squeeeed 😀

Renea Mason, I adore her and her books are so hot they are sizzling. I listened to all the audiobooks released so far. Can I say I am addicted and I want more? Of course I had to get all the books in print too so I can add them to my treasures. Keep checking back, some of her hunks are coming for a chat soon *sigh*

Kym Grosso, with her ready smile and sense of humour, she charmed us all. I have a few book boyfriends in the “Immortals of New Orleans” series, my faves are Léopold and Dimitri. Jase Dean joined her too, he is the model on a few of her covers. He is so sweet and hawt of course 😉

Also got to meet Jayne Rylon, and bought the “Powertools” series and received an I READ PAST MY BEDTIME tote bag that I’ve been eyeing for a while now. While Jean was busy, her hubby was quite entertaining and he gave me a good deal too 😀

I took part in a hunt for signatures and entered the contest for a HUGE gift basket filled with a lot of stuff. I didn’t win, but it was fun nonetheless.

Added a few more buttons to my ‘signings-only’ tote bag that has my all time book boyfriend Lothrariel (from the Elven Chronicles by M. A. Abraham) on the front… still MINEMINEMINE Mary 😛

Got some fun swag. The fan from Alexandria Sure came in handy for the hot flashes 😀 Mr. Gleason was the most entertaining in his presentation of his books. I will have to check them out for sure. The cake pops he was giving out were delicious, good thing I tried them at home and not during the event, I would have raided the table LOL

Also bought fun ones, I burst out laughing when I saw these, had to have them. I will have to find out what is the story behind these, KM Golland has a wicked sense of humour judging by the merchandise she has. Will have to venture in her book world too.

Added swag bags filled with stuff to the registration bags.

I brought two baskets, one from M. A. Abraham and one from Sharon Hamilton, for the silent auction with proceeds going to Niagara Falls Food Bank. Thank you again for your generosity MA and Sharon ❤

I bid on a few myself and won one basket in the silent auction, the one from the “Wiccan Haus” a series I love, donated by Kali Willows and Dominique Eastwick.

A recipe book was on sale to with recipes from attending authors and the proceeds went to the same charity as the silent auction. I bought 3 copies, they make great hostess gifts!

The silent auction and the recipe book sales raised almost $1,500 for the Food Bank. Isn’t that awesome?

These are the books going on the TBR pile. So many books, so little time, I should play the lottery and win big so I can read more LOL

The buffet dinner after the signing was quite good and got to sit at the table with authors and readers mixing together, have great conversations and laughs too.
