My Chat with Drew

Hello and welcome!

One of my newest BBF agreed to chat with me and I am so excited. I met him in September and you might remember I posted about the audiobook, if you missed it, check it out here.

Please welcome Drew!

What is your full name?
Really? My full name? I don’t usually share that information with strangers, but since this is an interview, I’ll tell you. It’s Andrew Niles Whitney. I know, it’s a horrible name.

Do you have a nickname?
That’s easy, it’s Drew. I’ve had a few other nicknames, but Drew is the most public-friendly if you know what I mean.

What is one word best describes you?
My friends would say it’s reliable. But my family would probably say it’s smartass. Wait, is this blog for mature audiences only? If not, let’s just go with reliable.

Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
What do you want me to be wearing…? Okay, just kidding.
It’s my day off, and it’s sweltering in Sacramento today. Because of that, I’m barefoot and wearing khaki cargo shorts with a faded blue t-shirt.

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
For the most part, I do. I’m not happy about that whole lying thing, but I was trying to get the girl and get our happy ending. I wouldn’t usually lie like that for any reason, but I was afraid of losing Emily. I took desperate measures, but that’s a testament to how much I love her. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Unfortunately, it almost lost me the girl. All in all, I’d say it was an honest portrayal of who I am. If anything, readers got to see the best and the very worst of me.

What makes you laugh out loud?
Ha! This is a great question. My kids make me laugh out loud pretty regularly. They’re complete goofballs most of the time. I try to make them laugh too, but sometimes they just don’t get my dad jokes.

What is your favourite dessert?
Pie. I love pie. Any kind too, I’m not picky. I’m also a big fan of fruit for dessert. I think I picked that up after spending so much time in Hawaii.

What is your favourite drink?
I’m a beer drinker. That is if you mean alcoholic drinks. Outside of alcoholic beverages, I love coffee, and I always have a bottle of water on me.

What is your greatest fear?
This question hurts to think about. As a widower, I’ve already lived through one of my greatest fear. But I always worry about something happening to one of my kids.

What is your favourite colour?
Let’s see… what is my favorite color? I’m not sure. It’s been a long time since someone has asked me that. I guess if I had to pick, I’d say I love greens and blues, sort of like the colors of the ocean.

What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Before kids, I didn’t wear anything to bed. But with kids in the house, I can’t sleep in the nude. You never know when a little kid is going to sneak in and crawl into bed with you. Since becoming a dad, I sleep in cotton pajama pants. If it’s cold, I’ll add a t-shirt too.

What is the perfect romantic date?
If I’m being honest, my perfect romantic date includes lots of sex. Dinner is an excellent addition too that perfect date, but sex is always at the top of my ‘perfect date’ list.

How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
I’m not ticklish. Seriously, why would you think I’m ticklish? Just don’t touch my knees or run your fingers down my inner thigh, and we’ll get along just fine.

What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Oh, good question! I LOVE the smell of fresh-baked cookies. When I was a kid, my mom was always baking something, and I miss the smell of baked treats. I can’t bake. I manage to cook regular meals for the kids and me, but baking isn’t something I’ve temped yet.

When you look at a woman what catches your interest?
I’m a leg man. If I’m not close enough to see a woman’s eyes, it’s her legs that will usually catch my eye. But I love a pair of beautiful, soulful eyes. I can usually learn a lot from someone’s eyes.

Do you have somebody in your life now?
I do have someone in my life. Emily and I are living together and raising our daughter together. We’re engaged and planning our wedding. I’m happier than I’ve ever been, and I believe she is too.

What is one word best describes her?
I’m not sure I can describe her in one word. She’s… everything. She’s perfect. Okay, maybe not perfect, but she’s perfect for me. She’s feisty. She’s smart. She’s complicated. She’s charming, kind, and she has no idea just how special she is. She keeps me on my toes, that’s for sure. Okay, if you’re forcing me to choose one word, that word is captivating.

Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
My book is the second in a series. Each story is a standalone. Book one is about Emily’s brother. If you think she’s a little crazy, wait until you meet him. Book three is about Mike Murphy and Rachel Williams. Mike and Rachel were high school sweethearts who lost their way. She’s been hiding something from him for fourteen years, but now it’s time for the truth to come out.

Thank you Drew for joining me and answering my nosy questions. Hugs to Emily, lucky woman! Looking forward to listen to Mike and Rachel’s story too.

Drew hails from Accidental LiesAn Unputdownable, Steamy, Sexy Contemporary Romance Novel – book 2 in the Accidental Love Series by Dana Mason.

AccidentalLies-audiocover.jpg

It was only meant to be a vacation fling….

Three blissful weeks on the beautiful island of Maui are exactly what I need…. Hula dancers, Mai Tais with cocktail umbrellas, and golden beaches – what more could I want?

Then I see her, and I realize she’s exactly what I want.

She was locked outside of her hotel room, all buttoned-up in a suit definitely not appropriate for a vacation, and wearing a fierce take-no-shit stance. But I couldn’t help noticing the pain behind her eyes….

Four Mai Tais later, the chemistry between us is hotter than the Hawaiian sun, and we decide to spend the rest of our vacation unwinding, undressing, and getting to know each other a little better….

We have just two rules:

1) No talking about our lives outside Maui.
2) This is just a vacation fling.

That means I can’t tell her about the heartbreak that haunts me, and the secret I have back home. It means I can’t ask her about the sorrow in her eyes, and why she has such a wall up – a wall I’m determined to bring crashing down.

When the sun sets on our trip, can I say goodbye to this gorgeous blue-eyed beauty? Or am I going to be tempted to break the rules?

And if I do decide to be a rule-breaker, will she even want me when she finds out who I really am?

This is a full-length, standalone romance with some hot-under-the-collar action, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA. For fans of R.S Grey, Whitney G., and Vi Keeland, Accidental Lies features a hot AF alpha and a sizzling will-they-wont-they love story that will have you totally addicted!

My review: audiobook edition – 5 stars

What a great story! I fell in love with Drew from the first, no wonder Emily fell for him. Their chemistry is off the charts. The journey to HEA is not easy, with unpredictable twists, at times I wanted to jump in and shout JUST SAY IT !!! LOL
They both need healing from losing their spouse and I am glad they work it out in the end, they are perfect for each other. The ending is sweet, got me tearing up. A great second chances contemporary romance that I recommend with 5 stars.
The experience was made even better by the voice of one of my fave narrators, Ms. Navarro performs with passion. I love listening to the many characters she brings to life.

I found this series through Ms. Kelsey Navarro, who is my newest voice crushes, added to my “eargasm’ list. Thank you Kelsey ❤

I listened to book 1, Accidental Groom and gave it 4.5 stars

My review:
Accidental?
A good romance mixed with drama, smexy scenes, a few laughs, it ends in HEA but what a ride! The story evolves and as I got to know them, Mac and Kelley are more than they appear. They are great together, their chemistry is hot and they help each other on the healing path from their troubled pasts. It touches some sensitive topics and the author handled them so well. The secondary characters are really helpful and some do elicit strong emotions. – 4 stars
Ms. Navarro is a storyteller and such a pleasure to listen to how she brings the characters and their emotions to life. Love the voices she gives them. – 5 stars

Book 3, Accidental Secrets will be released on December 5 in ebook. Hope the audio will be released shortly after and Ms. Navarro is narrating it.

Audiobooks to listen to: Love, Michael

Hello and welcome!

I just finished another great audiobook and let me tell you, it was an emotional wringer.

Love, Michael by Gina A. Jones is one that I could not stop listening to.

LoveMicheal.jpg

Michael,

Twenty years ago, I spent our wedding night alone and was given a letter outlining the day and time of our divorce. Now it’s our daughter’s wedding day, and your smile tells me you’re here for more than to walk her down the aisle.

When we met, it was the summer of Shania Twain, the color of mocha iced lipstick, sand and sable perfume, and the summer I became a 17-year-old mother. But time has changed me.

So tell me, why are you back?

Jill

LoveMichael-meme.png

My review: 5 stars

Jill’s story broke my heart, mended it, to break it again, what an emotional wringer. I spent most of the book being mad at Michael and I am not sure I got to like him fully even at the end. It resonates with me because of my life experiences, I cried a few times, I mean really cried, so be prepared to have tissues handy. Jill is a beautiful soul and I am glad she finally got her HEA, it took me by surprise with whom, but she paid dearly.
The parallel running of the ‘now’ and the ‘then’ was interesting, it bugged me at the beginning but as I listened it made sense to do it that way. The advices at the end hit home, I am on a path to learn forgiveness and it is hard.
Thank you Ms. Jones. Your voice is a pleasure to listen to and loved the variations for each character, especially the one you gave Michael.

This was not my first from Ms. Jones and it will not be the last, I hope there will be more.

Check out her books at the website.

My Chat with Susan Hayes!

Hello and welcome!

My today’s guest is an author I’ve been following for a few years now. Her books are out of this world awesome.

SH-banner.jpg

Please welcome Susan Hayes!

Do you have a nickname?
My parents usually call me Snooper. A childhood nickname because I carried a Snoopy stuffy with me for years.

What makes you laugh out loud?
British comedies.

What is your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
The ocean. I’ve lived on an island for most of my life. Every time I leave the ocean, I miss the smell. To me, that’s the scent of home.

Favourite place to spend time in.
My home. I’m a homebody at heart.

Is there a genre that you refuse to read?
I don’t read anything to do with True Crime. I spent ten years reading and processing police files as a career. True Crime just doesn’t appeal to me because of that.

Writing! What started it?
I’ve always been a writer. Even as a kid, I loved writing my own stories. I didn’t find the courage to try and get published until much later in life. My little brother died suddenly, and I was realized that life is too short not to take chances.

susan-hayes-quote-011.png

Audiobooks! What started them?
The day ACX ,Audible’s creation side, opened their doors to Canadian writers, I was in! I love audiobooks.

Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?
I write romances with strong heroines from diverse backgrounds because I believe every woman deserves her Happily Ever After.

Who is your intended audience, and why should they read your books?
My intended audience is anyone who loves Sci-Fi and Paranormal Romance with a hint of humour and a whole lot of sizzle.

What is next in your writing?
I am working on the next trilogy of stories for my Star-Crossed Alien Mail Order Bride series. They’ll be releasing this fall.

Thank you Susan for spending time with me. I am a big fan and looking forward to listen to more of your stories.

Hope you enjoyed my chat with Ms. Hayes.

Susan lives on Vancouver Island, off the Canadian west coast where the waters are patrolled by orcas, and the sighting of snowflakes leads to citywide panic. She’s jumped out of perfectly good airplanes on purpose and accidentally swum with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef.

If the world ends, she plans to survive as the spunky, comedic sidekick to the heroes of the new world, because she’s too short and out of shape to make it on her own for long.

As I mentioned, her books are out of this world, my love affair with them started a few years ago when I picked up the first audiobook in The Drift series, Double Down. The heroines are spunky and heroes dreamy alpha creatures.

The Drift Series.png

and I have almost worked my way thru Intergalactic Dating Agency series.

Intergalactic Dating Agency.png

Tieran Wilder is the voice giving them life and it is addictive. She has that warm voice that draws the listener in. I like that I can hear the emotions and moods behind the words and each character is distinctive.

I had the pleasure of meeting Susan a few times at RTC Ottawa, she is fun and a delight to be around.

You can check out her books on the website, so many to choose from: SCIENCE FICTION ROMANCE, PARANORMAL ROMANCE, CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE.

Follow on FB, Twitter and Instagram.

TDaniels-logo1.png

Tricia Daniels lives in a small town in Southern Ontario, Canada, where she raised three kids as a single parent. Creativity and imagination are never in short supply in her home. Between her quick wit and wicked sense of humor, she found she has a passion for writing steamy romance novels. Her goal is simple: tell her story, warm a few hearts, shed a few tears, share a silent chuckle, and occasionally make people blush.

That’s the official version. But the simple truth is… I’m not an author. My friends laugh when I say that. I have never aspired to write the next great love story or take the literary world by storm. I’m just a normal woman, struggling to pay the bills and trying to raise my kids in a home where they feel empowered, supported and loved.
Love inspires me to write. The same way you all feel when you connect with a fictional character and you feel their emotions, their angst… when your body gets all warm and squeezy at the good parts. An author experiences those things too when they’re writing. I love when the characters take over the story and plot twists develop that I hadn’t planned. I love the journey to the HEA even though sometimes that road has a lot of bends in it. I love how two imperfect characters can love each other perfectly. My reward, my inspiration is experiencing through them, a love so deep that I feel it in my own heart.

My Chat with Malachi

Hello and welcome!

Oh you will like my guest today. Met him a few months ago and he is my fave from the series. Read on and find out why 😉

Welcome! Welcome!

What is your full name?
Malachi Whitetail

Do you have a nickname?
People call me Mal, and probably plenty of other things, but those are best left unmentioned.

What is one word best describes you?
Only one? My wife would probably say broody, but I think laid-back would be more appropriate.

Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Seriously? I dunno—jeans, a black tee, some boots. Same thing every day.

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
hmmm Overall I guess so, although there were some scenes where she left me raw and bleeding. I don’t do emotion well and she had me inside out. That was tough, but since everything ended up the way it did, I can’t really complain. She did okay.

What makes you laugh out loud?
The shit my boy, Asher, gets into.

What is your favourite dessert?
My wife, Kim. If she’s not there, apple pie, but in a pinch I’ll take a beer.

What is your favourite drink?
Beer

What is your greatest fear?
Running out of beer

What is your favourite colour?
Black

What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Is that a trick question?
No, do you want me to guess? he smirks

What is the perfect romantic date?
A night at home with my wife, the kid and our Great Dane, Boo, stayin’ over at my brother’s.

How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
You touch me and you stand to lose a limb. That’s how ticklish.

What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Vanilla. It always reminds me of my wife. She has this shit she puts on her hair after she washes it, making it smell like fresh baked cookies.

When you look at a woman what catches your interest?
Used to be tall, thin, tits and blonde. That is until I met short, lush, tits and dark. I haven’t looked since then.

Do you have somebody in your life now?
Two somebodies actually: my wife Kimeo, and my boy Asher.

What is one word best describes her?
My wife? Impossible to describe all that she is in one word. In fact, I’m not sure there are enough words in existence to describe her. She’s my world.

Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
Yes, the Cedar Tree series. They’re basically standalone books and everyone working for GFI got their story written. I had to wait six books for my turn, but I first appeared in the third one, Against Me. That was my brother Caleb’s story, and I wasn’t in a very good place in my life back then.

After me it’s the youngest member of the team, Neil’s turn. He may be young, but after learning about the things he endured overseas, it’s obvious why he’s mature well beyond his age. Stands to reason he’d be drawn to an older woman, and Kendra is just perfect for him.

I really enjoyed getting to know you and Kimeo. Thank you Mal for chatting with me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I hope you enjoyed the chat.
As Malachi mentioned, he hails from “Like Arrows”, book 6 in the Cedar Tree Series by one of my fave authors, Freya Barker.
6-la-ecover
An assignment has just turned interesting for GFI investigator Malachi Whitetail. When a shy, mousy woman walks into his local diner, it takes him a minute to recognize her as an employee of the real estate office he’s been monitoring. Not a believer in coincidence, Mal decides a closer look at the short brunette might be warranted. It will be the first, but certainly not the last time, he finds himself coming to her rescue.
Kimeo Lowe leads a pretty quiet existence, which is why, when she ends up a witness to a crime, her curiosity into her boss’s suspected shady dealings gets kicked into high gear. She may not be the most sociable of people, but she’s always been independent and industrious, so when an opportunity to dig a little deeper arises, she doesn’t think twice. It would seem that this time she’s bitten off a bit more than she can chew, and when a freakishly tall Native American Adonis intervenes not just once, she decides sleuthing may be best left to professionals. But it’s a bit too late.
Just when life has settled into a comfortable routine, Kim finds herself dealing with not just one, but two threats on her life. With every turn there are new challenges to face, and Mal is not about to let her face them alone. Not even when he turns out to be no match for her most dangerous enemy.
LikeArrows
I listened to the audiobook and what an amazing experience it was, enjoying Tanya Eby and Noel Harrison’s voices. It was a 5-star listen for me. The story is a mix of romance, suspense, mystery, a bit of drama, some hawt sexy scenes too and makes for an interesting 10 hours. I love how Ms. Barker characters are so relatable, with real issues and hangups…. yes Mal can be a jerk at times, but Kimeo puts in his place and we get to know the real him. They do get their HEA, but the road taking them there is quite trying.
Here is a audio clip for your enjoyment
You can also read an excerpt on Ms. Barker’s website.
If you have not read / listened to the series, I urge you to give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
Thank you Ryder for chatting with me. Hugs to Madison.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks for joining us and I hope you enjoyed the chat.

I met Ryder in Delivered Through the Storm by one of my fave authors, Nicole Garcia.

Madison Moore is a single mother of two young boys. She’s not interested in dating or partaking in meaningless sex. Her only goal in life is to be a good mother and make life as normal as possible for her oldest son who is diagnosed with a learning disability.

When Ryder Storm literally comes crashing into her home and turns her life upside down, she finds herself falling hard. Madison’s denial about her feelings and dismissal of his advancements only fuels Ryder’s determination to make her his. Madison may think she poses a challenge for Ryder, but victory will be his, and when all her defenses are down, he’ll be more than willing to deliver whatever she needs.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross

Here is my review:

yummy Storm
I am in love with Ryder Storm! Definitely going into my BBF collection 😉
I really enjoyed the story, the way it unfolded and more layered were revealed, I didn’t have a choice but to fall in love with Ryder. He is strong, protective, loyal. I am glad that Madison and him met, they help each other in so many ways. I really felt for Madison, her ex was a jerk. Loved the banter between Ryder and his best friend, Keto and family. Madison’s best friend Tyler is awesome and hilarious at times, made me wish for one too 😀 – 5 stars
Quite a few emotional moments and were portrayed well by the narrators. Enjoyed listening to both and the voices they gave to the many characters, the duet style worked beautifully for this story. – 4 stars

A Portland ME Christmas Novella

by Freya Barker

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release: November 1, 2018

Faith failed him.

Ambition drove her.

Serendipity brought them together.

They’ve never met, but their paths run in the same direction—home for the holidays.
Yet their reasons for leaving are as different as the reasons they return.

Meeting by chance along a 1400 mile stretch of highway when a snowstorm grinds traffic to a halt, they have no choice but to jointly ride it out.

Exposing a common thread, leading them from the past to the present, it’s through the innocent eyes of a toddler, they discover a future.

EXCERPT

“Is that one for me?” she asks, more collected now that she’s dressed.
Sort of. The tight yoga pants and fitted shirt leave more to the imagination than those bulky towels did.
“It is, and if you’re hungry, there is food in the cooler. Courtesy of Syd.”
“Did you call her already?” Tana asks, while digging to find herself something to nosh on. She pulls out a baggie of vegetables and some sliced cheese. “This good for you?”
“Perfect, and no, I forgot. I’ll do it right now.”
When I slip my phone from my pocket, Tana makes a move to get back up—presumably to give me some privacy—but I quickly reach out and press a hand to her knee just as Syd answers.
“Took you long enough. I thought for sure we’d have to chase you down again.” I chuckle at Syd’s mock scolding.
“We just found a room. It’s mayhem out on the roads.”
“We?” Trust her to get stuck on that little word and I roll my eyes heavenward. “No half measures for you. Clearly. The woman I had on the phone earlier?” Syd barely gives me a chance to respond, and her volume has risen such that the woman sitting next to me can hear her side of the conversation just fine, judging by the tensing of her muscles under my hand.
“Yes. We’re stuck in a snowstorm and since the roads up ahead are closed, just about every bed in a fifty-mile radius was taken. We lucked out.”
“I don’t understand—you’re traveling together?”
“No, Tana’s car is at the bottom of a ditch. I just happened to pass by and spot it.”
“Jesus! Are they okay?”
“They’re fine, just shaken up. Flynn is already asleep.”
“Is that the name of her daughter? It’s pretty.”
“So is she. Spitting image of her mother.” Never mind that she’s sitting right next to me. There’s nothing I’m saying I don’t want her to know. Besides, if she is half as observant as I suspect she is, she already knows how I feel. No way my hard-on will let up with her squirming in her seat.
“You sound smitten.” I can hear the smile in her voice.
“Quite possibly,” I admit with a sideways glance at Tana.

I had the pleasure to read this as an ARC and I bought my own copy too.
It was a 5-star read, here are my thoughts on it:
I am a fairly recent fan of Ms. Barker’s books and this is my first in the Portland ME series. I know, a bit backwards, but it can be read as a standalone too. It definitely picked my curiosity to go and start the series from the beginning. I want to know more about the rest of the characters.
What I like about the story is the natural progression and the feel of ‘real’ness. I could identify and feel with the characters, cheer them on and laugh or cry with them, be mad with/for them.
Tana is such a strong heroine and brave too, her daughter Flynn is so sweet and I couldn’t help but fall for Matt, he is everything a hero should be… protective, strong with a heart of gold, patient. The secondary characters added depth to the story each in their own way. Tana’s parents cracked me up, they also made my heart warm how they accepted Matt and Leena.
Thank you, Ms. Barker for another great story.

I have these in paperback, signed too. After reading the novella, planning read them asap.

My Chat with Reid *mmmm*

Hello and welcome!

I finally got to chat with him… YAY… the one I fell in love not long ago when reading the newest instalment in this awesome series. But keep reading and find out who he is 😉

Welcome Reid!

What is your full name?
Reid Jackson

Do you have a nickname?
I’ve been called a lot of things, but that probably doesn’t count.

What is one word best describes you?
Private. My buddy Troy’s wife would say ‘solitary’, but Shayla is determined to fix me up.

Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Jeans and an old sweatshirt. It’s the middle of the night and I’m awake, watching a bad horror movie. I think I’ve seen this one…

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
She thinks she did and Cassie thinks she did, but a guy has to have some secrets. If she missed anything, I’m not telling.

What makes you laugh out loud?
A woman who says what she’s thinking, even if it’s not socially acceptable. I like that.

What is your favourite dessert?
Anything Cassie Wilson is serving. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but I can’t get enough of her.

What is your favourite drink?
Water.

What is your greatest fear?
I don’t have one anymore. The worst has already happened and I survived. I wasn’t really living, though, not until Cassie came back to town and shook me up.

What is your favourite colour?
Black. I especially like black leather boots, when the woman wearing them is gorgeous …. and she knows it.
Oh yeah, I think I know what you are referring to 😀 Cassie was wearing leather boots when we were chatting a while ago… smoking hot.

What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Nothing.

What is the perfect romantic date?
Delivering Pappy’s fried chicken to a woman who’s reluctantly babysitting – and who guarantees to make it worth your while. I could have stayed there all night long.

How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
I’ll never tell.

What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Dill pickle brine. It reminds me of the day Cassie walked back into my life.
I remember, I was laughing at the young lad and feeling sorry for him at the same time.

When you look at a woman what catches your interest?
Her confidence. She doesn’t have to be classically beautiful: she just needs to believe in herself and I’m hooked.

Do you have somebody in your life now?
Yes. Cassie and I are getting married next week.

What is one word best describes her?
Courageous. I always thought she was confident, lucky and gorgeous, but now that I know her secret, I realize she’s a lioness. She can roar for more from me anytime she wants…

Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?

Yes, Some Guys Have All the Luck is book #4 of the Flatiron Five series. Next up is a shorter story, Going to the Chapel, which includes Cassie and my wedding and more. After that will be Theo’s book, Bad Case of Loving You. I’m looking forward to knowing a bit more about him. He’s the most mysterious of the F5 partners to me.

Thank you Reid for taking the time to chat with me. Looking forward to reading the wedding book 😉 Hugs to Cassie and congrats to both of you!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well… there you have it and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I think Reid is a contender to Ty for 1st place for BBF in the series. Almost… Do I have to choose? Nope, I do not. So can I have both, Deb? LOL
My Chat with Shelton!
Hello and welcome!
I am so happy to have my next guest here with me. He reminds me a lot of my cousin who I grew up with and were close to, I reminisced a lot about those long ago days after listening to his story.
Please welcome Shelton!
OMG he is gorgeous! Marla! A little warning would have been good, girl! Where is my ice water? Where is my notebook with the questions? Oh drat! I know the questions by heart or I’ll wing it. Ahem!
What is your full name?
Shelton Morrison
Do you have a nickname?
No. Well, my cousin Fallon calls me Shell, among other things. But, otherwise no.
What one word best describes you?
Ooh. Just one word? Hm. Focused? Determined? Maybe, loyal? One of those will work. he chuckles
Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Well, I had another meeting today. So, today I’m wearing my dark blue suit, with a dress shirt. he looks a little self-conscious and amused…
cuff2
and I see he wears cufflinks OH MY … men in well tailored suits are my weakness
Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
Yes! On the one hand I think she makes me sound more interesting than I really am. But, on the other hand, she also doesn’t expose all of my flaws. So, it’s a nice balance.
What makes you laugh out loud?
We’ll I’ve been in two books so far. Have you read them? If you have, you’d know that I laugh a lot. Especially when I’m around Fallon. he shakes his head
I love your relationship with Fallon, reminds me a lot of what I had with one of my cousins growing up.
Would you say you’re easy going?
Yes and no. I can be just as easy going as I can be serious and everything in between. So, I guess I would say, I can be easy going. And, maybe I am most of the time. But, I’m not one of those people that is just easy going and nothing seems to bother them. A lot bothers me.
What is your favorite dessert?
Cheese cake. I love cheese cake. I don’t allow myself to eat it often. But, I love cheese cake.
It sounds like you really do love cheese cake.
What is your favorite drink?
Well, I drink a lot of water. I have to stay in shape and keep my cousin Fallon from getting ahead of me. That’s fairly easy, since she’s a chocoholic and she’s so much shorter than me. he chuckles But, she’s always competing with me. So, I can’t slip up and give her an edge. Or, did you mean my favorite alcoholic beverage?
You can tell me that too.
Tequila. Specifically, Herradura Reposada Tequilla.
What is your greatest fear?
I don’t like being in really confined spaces. I think I’m a little claustrophobic.
What is your favorite color?
Blue
What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Usually boxers or nothing.
What’s your favourite smell?
Freshly brewed medium or dark roast coffee.
Coffee-Coffee-Beans-Cup-Wallpaper
You are a coffee drinker, only then you would know the difference 😀
Good thing too because I made some for us and I only drink the good stuff.
What is the perfect romantic date?
The perfect romantic date would involve a beach, maybe several. Driving down the coast on a sunny, balmy afternoon with someone I love. And, watching the sunset disappear from the horizon.
How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
No. I’m not ticklish.
When you look at a woman what catches your interest?
Appearance. And, I have a thing for stilettos. He looks thoughtful Yeah, I sort of lost it the first time I saw Savina in stilettos. I’m not sure. I like an interesting face. I don’t seem to have a specific type, except there’s something about them that is interesting.
Do you have somebody in your life now?
Yes. I do.
What is one word that best describes her?
Charismatic
Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
Yes. It’s part of Marla JosephsReluctant series. I’m not sure what will happen next in the series. I know there will likely be other books. But, I have no idea if I will be in them. I’ve made an appearance in the other 2 so far. And, have this one that I’m a main character in. But, I really don’t know what will happen in the future.
Thank you so much Shelton for spending some time in my corner of the blogging world. I hope you to see you again soon.
Thanks for dropping by, I hope you enjoyed the chat.
REluctant-banner.png
As Shelton mentioned he hails from the Reluctant series by Marla Josephs, specifically Forbidden, book two in the series, is his story.
Shelton Morrison has a strict and fast rule about not getting involved with his tenants. He doesn’t do it. It’s bad for business. But, his latest tenant is definitely testing his resolve. She isn’t just living in one of his various rental properties. She’s living in his upstairs apartment just a stairway away.
Savina Savagar is tired of her overbearing, male dominated family. She’s moved out and right into the upstairs apartment of her irresistible new landlord. Only, he seems determined to resist her. The more she gets to know him, the more she wants more than the friendship he is offering.
Forbidden-audio.jpg
I listened to the audiobook and it was a 5-star experience for me, especially listening to the delicious voice of DC Cole ❤ who was my guest for a chat in December.
I looove Shelton, he is my book boyfriend in this series. He caught my attention in book 1, and the close relationship he has with Fallon reminds me of a cousin of mine. I can’t say the same of Savina. She is nice and I like how all the Alpha overprotective men in her family are scared of her, but the way she acted sometimes just irked me. It doesn’t reflect on the story though, their journey to HEA is bumpy to say the least. Got some twists too where the author threw me for a loop which made it entertaining, keeping me engaged the whole time.
Mr. Cole did an amazing job as usual bringing the story to life and the characters feel so real. His voice is addictive, looking forward to more.
