Hello and welcome!
Today I have a yummy duo that I just had to have here on the chat.
Please welcome Jet and Roger!
What are your full names?
Jet: Jet Frost. nudged by Houston, he continues You want the whole thing? scowls before exhaling loudly I was adopted by a couple called Quartermain though my parents are named Switzer. Since there’s been Frosts on the Circle C since 1868 I changed mine when we married. Easier for the kids.
Houston: Lila’s carrying the start of the next generation, meaning my son and Jet’s daughter. he grins, obviously proud I’m Houston Simpson, ma’am. narrows eyes in warning Only my father calls me Roger.
What is one word best describes you?
Jet: Determined.
Houston: Ma’am, about the only time I use one word it’s something that’s not fit for a lady’s ears. grins But if I must, how about flirt?
Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Jet: Boots, socks, jeans, T-shirt, and hat.
Houston: Below the belt we’re both wearing Ropers, which are cowboy boots with a wide toe, socks, and well-worn Wranglers still dusty from work. We’ve both got leather belts with a Montana Silversmith buckle. My daddy got me this buckle with a yellow rose of Texas. he tilts the silver oval to show a gold rose surrounded by black stars Above the belt I’ve got a T-shirt that used to be white and a black Lone Star hat. grins You know what they say. You can take the boy out of Texas, but yee-haw! raises his hat and winks
Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
Jet abruptly leans forward, forearms on knees, dropping his head, he mutters Dang woman talks too much.
Houston: You mean she knows you too well. kicks Jet’s ankle. Before he can react Jet swats him in the back of his head. He laughs Best take that as a ‘yes, ma’am’.
What makes you laugh out loud?
Jet: This fool when he puts both feet in his mouth while trying to backpedal and falls on his ass. tilts his head toward Houston
Houston: Hey, I resent that remark! suddenly turns serious I laugh a lot, ma’am. Ms. Butler says I play the fool to hide what I don’t want others to see. looks up, eyes hard and direct If you’re asking what makes me happy it’s seeing kids, ones who’ve been told that they’re not good enough, finally realizing someone believes in them. They look up at you, hoping that this time, after all the other times they were let down, you might come through for them.
Jet: Houston’s got a fortune in oil. He’s come through for a lot of kids. punches Houston in the shoulder, breaking the sombre mood
What is your favourite dessert?
Jet winces I have to say Lila’s chocolate chip cookies.
Houston: That’s not what you said when even the pigs wouldn’t eat the last batch. snorts a laugh Lila doesn’t set off the smoke alarm as much now, but…dayam! he shudders, exaggerating it I like anything Aunt Marci bakes. Pie, cake, squares, cookies… leans back, sighing in rapture That woman can make an old boot taste mighty fine.
Jet: After Lila’s cooking I’ll take Mrs. Mac’s cinnamon buns, with raisins and cream cheese frosting.
What is your favourite drink?
Jet: Water. Maybe a couple beers if we’re out.
Houston: Sweet Texas tea while working, beer with buddies, and single-malt whiskey when I’ve time to savor it. Eighteen year old Oban, or even better, the 1989 Balblair. sighs Now you’ve got me wanting a wee dram.
What is your greatest fear?
Jet: Losing Lila and our babies. When I thought that son-of-a-gun killed her… looks away, blinking
Houston: Ditto. absently rubs the leg hit with shrapnel from the roadside bomb that forced him out of the army I went nuts when I found out my sister had passed. Don’t know how I’d get through losing our wife or children.
Jet: We’ve all signed up as organ donors. The only way I’d get through losing someone I love, is knowing others will live because of it.
What is your favourite colour?
Jet scowls What does that have to do with anything?
Houston: You’ll have to pardon Jet. The only time he pays attention to color, other than to tell animals apart, is when it’s touching Lila’s skin. As in lingerie.
Jet nodding She looks good in green. It matches her eyes.
What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Jet’s lip twitch My wife. And all she wears is a smile.
Houston: Dammit, Jet, you’ve made the lady blush. they share a look We might as well enjoy it now. Once the twins are crawling, we’ll have to wear something.
What is the perfect romantic date?
Jet: A picnic at the Double Diamond’s hot springs. Just me and Lila, skinny dipping under a full moon.
Houston: I’d take Lila to an adventure theme park in Texas for the day. When she was a kid she was so determined to prove that she could be as good as her male cousins that she never really got to play. So we’d spend the day having fun. She’d relax at a spa during her mani-pedi and facial, then get all dolled up and we’d go out for some barbeque and dancing.
How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
Both men look at each other, shake their heads, and refuse to speak
What part of your wife first caught your interest?
Jet: Her size. I’m six-six and big all over. Lila’s almost six feet tall and has rancher muscles which means she’s big enough to share fun without breaking. What you should ask is what kept my interest, and that was her sharp mind and attitude.
Houston: You gotta know I grew up with people who judged people by how they looked and the size of their assets. First time I saw Lila I was lying in the back of Jet’s truck, still badly banged up. All’s I could see of her was her face and that gorgeous rack. We shared scars and then she asked if my hydraulics still worked. She didn’t give a damn about my scars because she cared more about what was inside. Still does.
What is one word best describes Lila Frost, the woman you share?
Jet: Mine. glares at Houston, daring him to dispute it
Houston shakes his head, sighing as if in pity I believe the word you are looking for, ma’am, is caring. Sometimes she cares too much. Then it’s our job to remind her to take care of herself as well.
Jet: True. holds up his left hand, where a gold ring shines But she’s still mine.
Is your book part of a series?
Jet: Yes, one that’ll be continuing for a while. Ms. Butler might have discovered us but we exist now, and that’s not going to change. We won’t disappear if Ms. Butler stops writing about us for a bit. nods abruptly, as if to make it so
Houston: To answer your question, ma’am, there’s at least seven sets of bachelor brothers who need wives, and so books to create them.
What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
Houston: Well, I also heard Simon MacDougal’s got Beth Elliott helping him track down descendants of the original Tanner’s Ford ancestors.
Jet jerks his head to face Houston Beth? He’s got that ghost working for him?
Houston: Simon wants to bring in as many members of the original families as he can, including the Texas branches of the MacDougal and McInnes families. He says Climax is not going to fade into the dust because of the economy. A cask of buried gold nuggets would help.
Jet: I heard a few handfuls of nuggets went into building the rehab facility and senior’s home. It’s for wounded veterans and locals. Houston spent a fair bit of time there.
Houston: I called those torturing physios some bad names but they do good work.
Jet: He’s putting some of his oil money into a new pool building with saunas and a therapeutic whirlpool. There’s even going to be a kiddy section.
Houston shrugs it off Our twins need to learn to swim in something other than a damn cold river. A lot of the staff are female. If they wear bikinis in the pool some of the cousins might find themselves a wife without Beth’s help. eyes light up And speaking of wives, ours should be waking from her baby nap. Duty calls, ma’am.
Thank you so much for chatting with me, I am hoping to see you again.

I hope you enjoyed the chat with the 2 hunks. Thanks for joining us.
Jet and Houston hail from “No strings Attached”, book 4 in Climax Montana series by Reece Butler. Check out the snippet on the website.
Tough rancher Lila Frost is determined to prove to her parents that she can manage the Circle C Ranch while they’re away for a month. She’s desperate for hired hands, so eagerly signs up Jet Quartermain and “Houston”. Having just left the Army, Jet wants to ease into civilian life while Houston needs to recover from his injuries.
Lila’s experience with men has been limited and boring, though her fantasy life is rich. Jet’s insistence he be her master at night both arouses and annoys her. Naturally dominant men, they find her independence an enjoyable challenge. She enjoys their attention, and the jealousy shown by spiteful rivals from her past.
The stakes are raised with the possibility of pregnancy as Jet, born a bastard, insists a baby means a husband while Lila refuses to consider it. When Lila’s life is threatened all three must reconsider their pasts, the present, and future plans.
