As some of you may know, I attended KaLiCon this year again with M. A. Abraham, if you missed my intro post you can check it out here.
Only the 2nd year and the event Kali Willows, Kacey Hammell and their kickass team organized was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed it all.
the registration bags and the swag received…
the ELVEN GAMES 2.0 Thursday afternoon where I got to help out, we had so much fun. Among other contests, I got them to do sock monkeys, they are not easy to do and was impressed with them. The pink one got first prize!
the double feature movie night on Thursday in our PJs. We had some LOL moments when some of the gals got their stuffed animals to be naughty, Sharon’s poor teddybear got traumatized by the monkey 😀 … my red dragon felt left out though 😉
but got some cuddles from two other cute teddybears 😉
Murder Mystery Dinner with full production on Friday night
the book signing was FREE to the general public on Saturday
the Halloween party where everybody dressed up on Saturday night … and danced our tushies off 😀
The food was great at all meals.
I won this beautiful table arrangement at one of the lunches, made by The Briers Edge. One of my friends at the table liked it so much, I gave it to her.
The silent auction was even more successful than last year, so many great items donated, the proceeds went to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
I won the bid on this art made also by The Briers Edge, depicting C. A. King‘s book, “Miracles Not Included“.
Oh the laughter… the awesome conversations… the dancing… the shenanigans … we had a blast! Great memories!!! Finally got to meet Andi Lawrencovna and she is such a delightful person to be around, lots of fun too. Got to see again some old friends, meet new ones too from which I know there will be a few that will be long lasting friendships.
There was a contest for the readers for which I entered too. I didn’t win, but had a blast writing the short story, fan-fiction in my fave world, the Elven Chronicles, where my ultimate BBF took me to the masquerade ball at KaLiCon. I had no idea would be that hard to let the story out of my hands. I don’t know how authors do it, like letting your baby go out into the wild world LOL the few that read the story so far say they enjoyed it.
I was really good this signing, bought only a few books.
I recommend Pépé G. Woodman‘s “The Dragon Within“, it is such a heartfelt and inspirational book with lots of beautiful photos. The author will be chatting with me in the new year here on the blog. Hope you will join us then.
For more info, check out the KaLiConwebsite, Twitter and Facebook. Hopefully there is another event planned next year.
And now the giveaway … a bag with all kinds of swag, a copy of “Invited, A Dinner to Die For” I bought an extra copy just for you and got signed by the authors. Also two signed books generously gifted, “Mythic Iron” from Kali Willows and “Guarding Midnight” from Kacey Hammell.
Tell me what are you reading/listening to right now. Sexy Mr. Random will pick the winner from the comments, after 3pm EST on Thursday, December 26, 2019. Open internationally! GOOD LUCK!
Until next time… read a book, listen to a book and don’t forget to show your love by leaving a review!
I am so excited one my BBF is visiting again. Ever since I heard his book was coming out I was so excited and he didn’t disappoint.
Hello, Eniko. I’m Natasza Waters. Currently, my nose is buried in Dixie Under Siege, so I thought I’d ask Lt. Elijah Bach to visit with you and your readers. He’s a veteran Navy SEAL and the hero in my newest release called Cricket Under Fire.
Please welcome Elijah!
DAYUM Natasza! I know I meet him before but … DAYUM … DAYUM … where is my fan?
Do you have a nickname? For sure! All special operators have a team name. Sometimes, they’re off the wall and a result of a characteristic or skill. My instructor on BUD/s tagged me with the name Crux. If you read Cricket Under Fire, you’ll learn why.
What is one word that best describes you? Depends who you ask. he says grininng Ask one of the team guys and he’ll probably tell you I’m a hard-liner. When we’re tasked on a mission, the squad wants it to go as planned, doesn’t always happen that way. As a lieutenant of Alpha Squad, I have expectations, but I know my men and their abilities. They set the bar pretty high.
Describe what you are wearing now to our readers. Ran ten miles with Mace and Tinman this afternoon. Came home, took a shower, then slipped on a pair of drawstring sweatpants… and that’s about all.he winks
Do you think the author portrayed you accurately? She gets Bravo Zulus from me. SEALs wear a uniform and fight for Uncle Sam, but we’ve all got a little good, bad and ugly inside us. The squad’s CPO Mason Briggs says it best. “We’re just blood and bone.” Until Rayne came to work at Base Command, I tended to keep my relationships short n sweet. Miss Levy changed all that.
What makes you laugh out loud? Team guys are always yanking on each other’s chains. Gotta be that way to de-ice ourselves from warfare. During Mission: Tropic Tango, where Rayne and I partnered up, I made a rookie mistake. The guys ribbed me about it.he chucklesI deserved it.
What is your favourite drink? I’ll drop by Breakers bar with the rest of Alpha Squad to throw back a couple brews.
What is your greatest fear? Once I knew Rayne felt the same about me as I did about her, my fear of losing her skyrocketed. Falling in love with someone has an effect on a man. I’ve seen a lot of things overseas most people haven’t. Yeah,he shakes his headthink a little fear keeps us centered. It’s natural, and maybe I’m a little obsessed of my forever gal, but I just want her to be safe.
What is the perfect romantic date? Elijah chucklesAlthough not always the case, it’s not the place that makes a date romantic but the woman you’re with.
What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of? That’s an easy one. The smell of home. There’s no place I’d rather be. Think any SEAL will tell ya that family comes first after Uncle Sam is finished with us.
When you look at a woman what catches your interest? Hmm, good question. Had a lot of years being a card-carrying bachelor. As cheesy as it sounds, when I saw a woman laugh or a gal with a beautiful smile, that always drew my attention. Reminds guys like us that not everything in this world is evil.
Do you have somebody in your life now? It’s no secret Rayne Levy is the woman who stopped me dead in my tracks. Like most single guys, I had a tendency to keep things simple. When Rayne was hired by base command, Nina, her trainer, got in my face and told me to steer clear of Rayne. SEALs have high-octane professions. Takes a special woman to rein us in. From our first encounter, I had no doubt Miss Levy was special. Smart. Sweet. I loved the way she looked at life. I couldn’t ignore how she looked at me. And I sure as hell couldn’t get her out of my head. For three months, I kept my distance, then a mission brought us together. It didn’t take me long to realize Rayne was the woman I wanted to build a white picket fence with.
What is one word that best describes her? Real. She’s down to earth. Smart. Caring. Sexy. Brave. Inquisitive. Guess that’s a whole lot more than one word, but she’s all of those things.
Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series? Think Natasza is working on Dixie Under Siege which will be the second book in A Warrior’s Passion series. Dix owns the new coffeehouse in Coronado called the Erotic Bean. Commander Josh Hunter assumed Ghost’s role at NAB, found out that someone is stalking her. Problem is years ago, Dix and Josh were engaged. I know Josh, he’ll catch the guy, but I also think he wants to mend some fences with his ex. But he’s gonna have firefight on his hands.
So excited to see you again, learned a few more things since last time. Thank you for the chat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you enjoyed the new chat with Elijah. If you missed the last one, you can check it out here. I rather enjoyed being Cricket for a few LOL
Look at this delicious cover, and I promise you the story is too 😉
As he mentioned, he hails from Cricket Under Fire, book 1 in the A Warrior’s Passion Series by one of my fave authors, Natasza Waters.
Military Romance – Rayne Levy’s new career is about to take an explosive turn.
Rayne’s excited about her future. Hired by NAB Coronado as a tactical analyst at Base Command, she’s up for the challenge. On her first day, she meets Lt. Elijah Bach, a rugged Navy SEAL with a sizzling reputation. His men respect him, but Rayne’s training officer warns her that the handsome warrior and proverbial bachelor is a boatload of trouble.
Tasked on Operation: Tropic Tango, Elijah is partnered with Rayne. Her inexperience isn’t the problem. She’s intelligent, tenacious and determined to prove herself. For six months he’s struggled to keep his distance. From the sidelines, he’s watched her confidence soar. Now, they’re thrown together on a mission. Concealing his hunger is one thing. Defying the slow-burn of desire is another, but when Rayne walks too close to the flames, his control unravels, and so does his ability to resist what he wants most.
Check out the trailer
My review: 5 stars ( I wish I could give more)
It is sooo goooood to be back in this world. I really enjoyed reading Rayne and Elijah’s story, they fit so well. Their story is suspense, adventure mixed with hot scenes and some laughs too. It was great to see again the couples from the previous series, love their close-knit group and how their ladies match their men so well, they protect their own…. together. I am looking forward to more… and hopefully soon.
