I look at my watch as I leave the office and give a groan. Damn, I am almost two hours late for my interview with Talus. This wasn’t supposed to have happened. Something tells me I am going to have to reschedule, if he will even talk to me after this. There are times I hate these rush projects that get pushed onto to me at work.
Without knowing why I should even bother, I walk through the door into my interview studio and stop short. Well hello, handsome, I think as I see an Elf reclining on my couch. He looks so relaxed, so… scratch the following thought….

Talus? I ask, as he rises to meet me.
Lady Eniko! A crooked grin crosses Talus’ face.
I would have thought you would have given up on my returning a long time ago. I comment and I can’t stop my eyes wonder across his wide chest, then I force them up to meet his amused eyes.
I have learned patience during my wait for my Life Mate. Talus explains. Some of us need more of that than others. You are right about one thing though my time here is limited. I can only stay here for a short time. I can and will offer you a treat though.
I am open to possibilities, as many occur to me. Perhaps a wish? Would he consider taking me with him? Can he travel through time as well as space? I am thinking about Loth, for some reason.
Talus laughs, as he shamelessly reads my thoughts and answers, I am so sorry, those are all answers I can’t give you.
I let my eyes drop in disappointment and they linger as they follow the way his leather pants caress his bottom. A girl has got to love these Elven visits. They don’t even mind when people admire their form, not that this is what I am doing…. Yes, I am, so sue me.
So what treat are you offering? I ask curiously.
Talus hands me a set of leathers and, as I take them from his hands, I notice they are lined with fur. I look at him in question, and he grins anew. If you hurry, we can get in a quick dragon flight. Are you interested?
AM I INTERESTED? I doubt if I have ever changed clothing so quickly before in my life, much to his amusement. As far as I was concerned he could laugh all he wanted, I was going riding on the back of a Dragon. People, eat your hearts out.
An hour later we return to the sight of another Dragon waiting beside my place. I look around to see if anyone else can see him as he sits by the building, but no one seems to notice. Again, I can feel Talus laughing at me from his Dragon form.
While in your realm, we are concealed with a spell. Talus informs me then asks, Would you like to meet my friend?
Duh, you think? I wasn’t about to voice that thought. I would love to.
As I dismount, a glow forms around the two Dragons and I am faced with two drop dead gorgeous Elves. One is Talus, but the other… Oh yes! I am in love.
Lady Eniko, I would like to introduce you to my friend. He has only a moment, but promises to return to speak to you at a later time. Talus is close to laughing as I am sure my mouth is open. This is one seriously hot Elf.
Does your friend have a name? I ask.
The reply is quick, as the Elf we are talking about bows and smiles. I stifle a gasp. MINE! Hands off! MINEMINE!!!

T’Harris. The gorgeous Elf introduces himself, takes my hand and presses a light kiss on it. He turns to his friend and speaks in a low husky tone. I was sent to bring you back to the Empire, things are happening that you need to know about. We have all been summoned to meetings by both Lariel and King Gerolth. Then turning to me, Lady Eniko, it has been my pleasure. Please accept my apologies for the short stay. Another time perhaps, when you have time and it isn’t so pressing for us.
All I do is nod. As the two Guardians shift back into their Dragon forms, I add, I will make sure I have the time when you do.
A moment later, they are gone. I stand there stunned until I gain the ability to move, then sit down hard on the couch, fanning my face. I really do hate these rush jobs, if it weren’t for them, I would have had so much more time to spend with DRAGONS!!! I wish they could whisk me away too.

Well? What do you think? Wasn’t this awesome? I do love when the Elves highjack the chats. I never know the surprise they spring on me 😀
Talus hails from “The Priestess“, book 3 of the Guardians of the Empire by M. A. Abraham, releasing on February 20, 2020. If you are not familiar with the series, it is a spin off set in the distant future after the Elven Chronicles and One Empire.

Britallia hides secrets from her people, even as she leads them as their Princess Priestess. She is an Elf. She keeps her hair in a style that always covers the points of her ears, but she can’t hide what she is from others like her.
Talus is one of the chosen, an Elven Prince who has earned the right to be part of the squadron of Elven/Dragon shifters that guard the Elven Empire. He, like his brethren, have been in Dragon form for too long, and have lost a part of his heritage to the character he becomes.
It takes one look for these two unlikely mates for them to recognize each other for what they are, Life Mates. The question is, can she tame his Dragon, or will she be bound to forever love half an Elf?

My review: 5 stars
Expect lots of changes on both sides of the mountain. Adventure, excitement, with happy moments and not so happy moments, this book will not leave you bored, and don’t forget the signature twists the author likes to throw in. Happy reading!
Look at the beautiful print book cover, Cora Graphics did an amazing job as usual.

The awesome thing in buying the paperback is that it has a bonus short story included, An Elven Love Song, which is Matrium and Gaylon’s story.
Check out the rest of the books in the series.

THE GUARDIANS OF THE EMPIRE – 12-book series
( … and whatever short stories I can manage to convince MA to write 😉 … )
A sequel to the ‘Elven Chronicles’ and ‘One Empire’ series.
There are twelve Elves who have proven their worth over the Millennium. They have won the right to shift into Dragons, so they have become Guardians of the Elven Empire. They have won this honor through valor, might and compassion. They are prime Elves, the sons of Kings, but they have been alone for too long, without the hope of meeting their Life Mates. Because of this, they are beginning to lose their identities. They live their lives for duty, as they fly patrols around the borders of the boundary Emperor Lothrariel and his Kings created to keep the Empire safe. But, one day at a time, they are beginning to succumb to their Draconian half. It is time something was done to stop this, and their leader, King Gerolth, has set a plan in place to take care of this problem.
Somewhere in the Elven worlds there are Life Mates for these Guardians, and King Gerolth is determined that they will be found, before it is too late.
