A Christmas visit to remember

Hello and welcome!

First I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, hope you are spoiled. I sure was!!! You will not believe who came by last night SQUEEEEEEE

Read on and find out 😀

“Are you out of your mind?” Branith’s outraged tone was quieted by the need for secrecy.

What were his nephews and nieces thinking? Both Gabriel and Marious’ broods were in attendance. They were grinning, and looking at him with eyes filled with an expectation that made him wonder what they were up to. Those eyes were sparkling brighter than all the Christmas lights that shone around them, from every surface of the city that surrounded them. None of the Humans were supposed to see them, so he had to watch what his reactions to their newest caper were, or it would be him that gave them away to the rest of the world.

When Branith had first heard about their plan, he had thought it was a great idea. They were not going to make a big deal of it; their intension was to sneak into the human world, to wish Eniko a Merry Christmas.

“Lets surprise Eniko on Christmas Eve,” Timorean had suggested.

Coming from anyone but Timorean, Branith would have known something was off, but that boy had a way of putting anyone who dealt with him at ease. He was a lighthearted child, playful and eager to please everyone around him. If it had been any of Marious’ children who had suggested that he join them, he would have automatically realized there was an ulterior motive for their invitation.

When Branith had shown up at their rendezvous on Christmas Eve, only the boys had been there to greet him. He had been surprised to see how much they had filled in and grown since his last trip into the Light Elven Kingdom. They were nearly as tall as he was, and they showed muscles from their training, where only been the signs of future development had existed before. They had already changed into their costumes, and he had laughed at them, for they were dressed like Christmas Elves. That alone should have warned him of more dire things to come, but he wasn’t thinking straight, or not like an Eagle Claw should. Instead, he had been carried away with his amusement. About the time his subconscious caught on to what was going on, they pulled out a red Santa suit and passed it to him, with instructions for him to put it on. He looked at it and could only wonder where they had found it. Also, he began to question where they were going? He had a feeling it wasn’t to Eniko’s interview lounge, or they wouldn’t be dressing up like this. Elves didn’t celebrate the way most Humans thought they did. It wasn’t the way it was.

Branith didn’t have to wait long to find out what his nephews and nieces had in mind, for the girls joined them shortly after. They entered the room, leading a half dozen huge Tantalarian Guardian Warriors, along with a couple Tantalarian females. Now, that was a sight he could appreciate, even if he wondered how they had managed to get them there. To top it off, the girls had gotten the Tantalarians to dress up as angels, Halos and all. They didn’t look like they minded, so he figured he was probably over reacting to the plans they hadn’t told him about yet. He put the red suit on and followed the group out to the meadow, where Larien and Alyssa were waiting for them with their Dragons.

S’Larea showed up at the last moment, with a red sack, filled with something, and told Branith to give Eniko her love when they met.

Well, he supposed he could do this, for Eniko, he liked her. He looked around, to see where his sleigh was; after all, Santa drove a sleigh, right? There was nothing. That didn’t push any warning buttons in the back of his mind either. He should have known better. The little stinkers hadn’t changed. They might be well into their teens, but deep inside, they were still toddlers at heart.

Now Branith was standing on a rooftop in the middle of a city, looking at a chimney that was spewing smoke into the air, while the Tantalarians were blowing trumpets as they flew around the building. He looked at the six-inch flue and refused to go any further.

“I will never fit down that,” Branith objected.

“We can help make you fit,” Eärwen offered.

Branith couldn’t believe Eärwen had managed to utter those words, while looking so innocent, not when the others were staring at him like little fiends of the nether regions. They were all wearing evil grins and had eager gleams in their eyes. This was not what they were supposed to be doing. Was it?

Then again, Branith looked at the chimney with a speculative glance, it did seem like going down that on his own might be the lesser of many evils. He conjured a spell, and rose into the air, to silently descend down the opening. It had worked, and he hadn’t gotten incinerated! He was standing beside Eniko’s tree, with the red sack S’Larea had given him earlier, still clutched in his hand. He smiled, as he opened the bag and began to look inside. There were a few things marked with her name, and a flat box for Eniko from Lothrariel. He placed them under the tree, and then turned to notice a group of teenage Elves, standing on the balcony watching him. They were smiling, as they sang an Elven carol.

I woke up suddenly, I was sure that I had heard something moving in my home. I quickly checked on my son, but he was fast asleep. The clock began to strike twelve, as I walked into the living room where the tree stood, and I stopped and stared.

There was a very handsome looking Elf, putting a few presents under my tree… OH YES!!! I must have been very good this year… YUM. He stopped, looked out of the window of my balcony, where the sound of some heavenly sounding music seemed to be coming from. He then turned, to look at me. He gave me a roguish grin, as he seemed to disappear in front of me. I remembered his wink as he left, and smiled. I went to the tree and noticed the extra gifts.

IMG_3443.JPGmade by Loth

One especially caught my eyes, for I would have recognized that name and writing anywhere, even if it was scripted in Elven.

Lothrariel, he had not forgotten me…. sigh

The sounds of trumpets outside of the building caught my attention and I moved to the door of the balcony. I went outside, to see where they were coming from, and was sure I saw a group of angels hovering overhead. They only stayed for a moment, then they were gone, as if they had never been. I would have questioned the whole thing, if it hadn’t been for the gifts I was holding.

Wasn’t that an awesome surprise? I am still giddy *squeal*

My Chat with Heather Rainier

Hello and welcome!

Today I have one of my top 10 authors whose books are on auto-buy for me. I had 3 of the Divine hunks from my fave book of the series for a chat back in June 2014.

Please welcome Heather Rainier!

banner.jpg

Heather lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with autobiographical humor, triumph and tragedy mixed in.

Heather’s love of romance fiction began as a teenager when her mom gave her copies of Kathleen Woodiwiss’s “The Flame and the Flower” and Bertrice Small’s “Skye O’Malley”. To this day she’s pretty sure that was her mom’s version of the “birds and the bees” talk.

Heather writes the type of novel she loves to read: more erotic and edgy than the mainstream, with plenty of sweet romance mixed in and a happily ever after guaranteed. Heather’s favorite type of hero is the gentle, lovable giant but readers will discover a wide variety of heroes and alphas on the pages of her novels, from nearly perfect to very flawed.

When not happily typing at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her kids, or loving on her smokin’ hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.

Read on to find out more…

Do you have a nickname?
I grew up blessed with a name that couldn’t be easily changed into a nickname so taking on a pen name was a nickname of sorts. Only a select few know my pen name outside my immediate family so it’s become a nickname of sorts, usually when I act more like “Heather” than my mild-mannered “real-world” self would. This usually involves colorful storytelling, unladylike language, and maybe sangria.

What is one word that best describes you?
Introvert. I’m comfortable with my own company, so being able to write from home is a dream-come-true career. As long as Mr. Rainier takes me out for steak or seafood every so often, I’m happy. I’m sensitive to the energy and moods of other people, and when I am out, I’m naturally a people watcher. I think that’s the storyteller in me.

What makes you laugh out loud?
My husband makes me laugh out loud when he asks a question and my answer is a bit more “Heather” than my usual mild-mannered self. His reactions are priceless.

I also laugh out loud at our kids, who are mortified by our lovey-dovey-ness with each other. Our teenaged daughter is particularly nauseated by our rampant mutual affection, although I know she secretly aspires to have a relationship just like ours.

dogs.jpg

And our dogs, Eli and Cheyenne, also provide comic relief. Most of the time, they’re comatose on our back porch but then, on a moment’s notice, they’re off chasing dragonflies, birds, or…the air. Every once in a while they’ll come back with something awesome like a live guinea hen, a dead wild turkey, or bones of an unknown origin that they’ve found or dug up on the property. Or worse, they return from a losing battle with a skunk. Not good.

What is your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Because of their calming effect, I love the scent of several herbs, including rosemary, lavender, and spearmint. I’m also very partial to the scent of a brand new book.

Favourite place to spend time in?
Bed. I don’t think that needs any further explanation. Although I love being anywhere Mr. Rainier is. We’ve always been self-employed, so we’re that odd couple that spends a lot of time around each other and likes it that way. He’s my sounding board and I’m his.

At one point I was his receptionist and bookkeeper. One day I kissed him goodbye when he came in the office right as a UPS deliveryman arrived with a package. After I was gone, the driver told him that he had a pretty good thing going, having a secretary with side benefits. He said, “You have no idea.”

Is there a genre that you refuse to read?
As far as genres go, I tend to avoid thrillers and mysteries, since I’m too easily distracted from keeping all the clues and facts straight. As far as the romance sub-genres go, I’ll read paranormal, fantasy/sci-fi, contemporary, BDSM, MFM or MMF ménage. Because I’m a writer, I catch myself editing as I read, so I’m a stickler about well-written and well-edited books.

My deal breakers are main characters who cheat, barely-of-age main characters in ménage, and happy-for-now stories. I like commitments, weddings, and babies—hopefully in that order.

Writing! What started it?
Writing has always been my dream career, but I grew up in a time where it was nearly impossible to be published, and be successful enough at it to do it full time. After working numerous jobs and then coming home to be a mom, I desperately needed to the creative outlet. In my early forties I started reading romance novels again and wound up buying a Kindle because I’d discovered this thing called erotic romance. After reading many, finding a few favorite authors, and realizing digital publishing was recreating the playing field for hopeful authors, I tried my hand at writing an MFMM ménage, where the heroine is the center of attention for all the men and the men don’t play with each other. I wrote my first three stories and got VERY lucky in finding a publisher that specialized in what I wanted to write. That relationship has been a life-changing one for me.
So glad you did. I think many of your fans would agree with me that your books are wonderful and the heroines’ lives resonate with many of them, including me.

If you could choose another career what would it be?
I’m a very creative person, raised by creative parents. My mother was a painter, my father was a commercial photographer, and my stepmother was a graphic artist and folk artist. I grew up around people who had an “eye” for creating art in the same way authors have a “way” with words. I’ve always been a reader so the tendency was always there. If it hadn’t been writing, it probably would’ve been either photography or graphic art.

Audiobooks! Any plans to have more of your books in audio format?
Many people have told me they’ve enjoyed the audiobook of Margot’s Hunger. I’ve signed an agreement with my publisher for any book I write with them to be made available in audio format. Beyond that, I have no control over the process. The first step is for a narrator, or “potential novice” narrator to audition to read it with Audibles. I have no idea how that process works but I hope someone with a sexy Texan accent one day decides to bring Divine, Texas to audible life.

Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?
My first hope is that my stories convey commitment, love, and the idea that happily-ever-afters are not just fairy tales. I write to push readers to not just accept themselves but to also celebrate their uniqueness and that, until we’re in our graves, it’s never too late to seize the day. For some readers, I bring a message that maybe it’s time to raise their standards for the kind of treatment they will accept from a partner. My ultimate goal is to offer a temporary escape from reality that delivers erotic adventure, tenderness, and laughter.

Who is your intended audience and why should they read your books?
I grew up with the notion that men were visually stimulated creatures (porn) and women were more stimulated by the written word (romance novels) but I believe the lines are much more blurred. I’m one of those odd visually-stimulated ducks, so I’m not going to fault a man who prefers to read erotic romance. I don’t write to please a certain age range but I am definitely sensitive to the number of mature readers who own Kindles.

What is your favorite work-related activity when you’re not writing?
I love interacting on Facebook, through my timeline and fan page, and on my blog, the Divine Tease.

Ethan banner.jpg

Ethan Grant, one of the original heroes from Divine Grace, book one in the Divine Creek Ranch series, is also on Facebook and readers can look him up as well. He writes short stories based on pickup lines he hears at the Dancing Pony and shares them most every Sunday night on his timeline. Just look for the blue Dancing Pony Pickup Lines banner.

Ethan-Grants-Slices-of-Life-Banner.jpg

He’s been writing the pickup lines for a few years, and some of the original one-liners have been embellished with a bit more story and are now featured weekly as Slices of Life from the Dancing Pony on my blog, usually on Wednesdays.
I always look forward to reading his posts, they make my day.

What is next in your writing?
I have at least a few more Divine Creek Ranch stories to tell, but I am also planning another erotic romance series, most probably also ménage, but set in a fantasy/sci-fi-oriented world. The character development, eroticism, romance, and humor readers have come to expect will be in whatever this series develops into. I’m just feeling the need to throw off contemporary rules and experience a new, otherworldly realm. I haven’t ruled out any possibility yet.

Looking forward to read more of your books in the future. Thank you Heather for spending a little time in my corner of the blogging world.

My Chat with Rosanna Leo

Hello and welcome!

Today I have an amazing and sweet lady, a multi-published romance author whose specialty is “star-crossed loves”. I enjoyed many of her books and had a few of my book boyfriends join me on the chat, the yummy selkies Calan and Machar and former political journalist Patrick sigh

Rosanna.jpg

Please welcome Rosanna Leo!

Winner of the Reader’s Choice 2015 in Paranormal Romance for “Predator’s Fire”, book 5 in the Gemini Island Shifters series at ‘The Romance Reviews’, Rosanna draws on her love of mythology for her books on Greek gods, selkies and shape shifters. Her hot contemporary romance Vice was recently reviewed by Library Journal.

From Toronto, Canada, Rosanna occupies a house in the suburbs with her long-suffering husband, their two hungry sons and a tabby cat named Sweetie. When not writing, she can be found haunting dusty library stacks or planning her next star-crossed love affair.

A library employee by day, she is honored to be a member of the league of naughty librarians who also happen to write romance.

Read on to find out more ….

Do you have a nickname?
I have a number of nicknames, but the one that has stuck the longest is “Lala.” When my younger brother was a toddler, he couldn’t pronounce Rosanna. Lala was the closest he could come. The name has lasted about 40 years now.

What is one word best describes you?
Optimistic. I’ve never been a believer in seeing the glass half empty. I’m a glass half full kind of woman.

What makes you laugh out loud?
Would it be horrible for me to admit bathroom humor cracks me up? Because it does… in a big way.

What is your favourite smell?
I have a couple of favorite smells.

1438746-bigthumbnail.jpg

One is lilac, my favourite flower. The other is cocoa butter, which reminds me of the tropical vacations I’ve had. I love lounging on the beach, catching that scent on the breeze.

Favourite place to spend time in.
I have two favorite places to visit and could spend years exploring them to the fullest. London, England and the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Both are cherished vacation spots and I never grow tired of visiting.

Is there a genre that you refuse to read?
I don’t think I would refuse a genre without assessing specific books. I’d like to think I’d make my decision based on individual subject matter.

Writing! What started it?
A school essay when I was 12. I wrote about my grandfather’s experiences in WWII and got hooked. Since then, I have scribbled as much as possible. I’m so glad some of my scribbles have paid off and that audiences are listening.

If you could choose another career what would it be?
If I were smart, I’d pick something practical like computer programming, something for which I have no aptitude. However, I’d probably pick something just as “flighty” as writing. I’d be a musical theater actor or something in the arts.

Audiobooks! Any plans to have any of your books in audio format?
I would love to have my books in audio format and it really is up to my publishers as to whether or not that happens. If this is something you’d like to see, let them know!
I would love to listen to Anton, the tiger shifter prince YUMYUM
…. or to Percy and Byron, the jaguar shifter twins OH MY!!!

Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?
Love, always, as one might expect. However, I do touch on other themes. My books often explore the ideas of self-sacrifice and having to make the decision to put another person first. For some of my characters, it might be the first time they’re in this position. No matter what, it always changes their lives for the better.

Who is your intended audience and why should they read your books?
I wouldn’t say I write for a specific audience. Most romance readers are women, but I’ve been tickled to receive some lovely reviews from men. In fact, I once had a woman tell me she bought one of my books for her 22-year-old grandson! Apparently, he liked mythical romance. I just try to write the best book I can, something I would like to read, and trust the audience is out there.

What is next in your writing?
I have a few projects on the go. 2015 was a busy year for me, with 4 releases between February and November. This gives me the luxury of really being able to consider my next works and how I want to approach them. I’m working on the final two books in my Gemini Island Shifters series and am in the midst of plotting a new contemporary romance. I can’t wait to share more as the days go on.

Thank you Rosanna for joining me in my little corner of the blogging world. I am looking forward to reading more of your amazing stories. Hoping you can get Byron and Percy to come for a chat soon.

My Chat with Gennita Low

Hello and welcome!

Today I have a lady who beside being an awesome author, has a great sense of humour. I, along with many fans enjoy her hilarious FB posts. They really make me laugh out loud reading about her interactions with the workers in her crew, also her menagerie of pets.

Remember My chat with Hawk and his preference for strawberry edible undies? LOL

Please welcome Gennita Low!

She also co-owns a roof construction business and knows 600 ways to kill with roofing tools as well as yell at her workers in five languages. Read about red-hot navy SEALs and spy agencies whose deadly operatives kill and love with passion and humor!

Here are some of her book covers…

Gennita-poster.png

Do you have a nickname?
I have several, some of which funny but crude . If you read my FB posts, you know one of the—Queen of Semen Makers. LOL. As you know, it’s a punny joke adopted by the construction workers.

What is one word best describes you?
Morbid. Nah, just kidding. I kid a lot.
Your fans enjoy it very much, I found myself laughing out loud many times. I almost fell off the chair when I was reading the Pawn Shop story you posted on Nov. 16 on your FB page LOL

What makes you laugh out loud?
Clowning around.

What is your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Vanilla and almonds. I don’t know, I just like those smells in everything.

Favourite place to spend time in.
My garden.

garden2.jpggarden1.jpg

Saw the pics you posted, it is beautiful.

Is there a genre that you refuse to read?
Not refuse—I do read it intermittently, like one every ten years. But I’m not a horror or real crime story fan.

Writing! What started it?
Reading stories started it.

If you could choose another career what would it be?
You don’t think I have enough careers?!!! Okay, maybe archaeologist. Or a game show host. Or a small-time rose grower. Or a garden designer. Just maybe a roofer.

Gennita-roof.jpg

Audiobooks! What started them?
Just a way to expand readership. I want my books in as many formats as possible. If I could afford it, my books would be translated into many languages!
I love Kevin Foley‘s voice, great choice for your stories. Saw that “Sleeper” is out in audio, I have to get that one too.

Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?
Yes, brotherhood and friendships. Each book starts with a specific emotion/emotional state.

Who is your intended audience and why should they read your books?
I write for those who love military romance/spy romance stories with strong female protagonists. I hope my international themes, especially the main topic of female roles in different societies, open some eyes on the plight of women, but I don’t really push any agenda. I just want to highlight what I’m interested in—exploitation of women and children and what some groups are doing to help them. I do a lot of research, reading up on WHO reports as well as news articles that aren’t making the headlines and although my main focus is to write a wonderful and sexy romance, I want to also put my characters in the arena that provides moral as well as physical conflicts.

What is next in your writing?
I have several projects for Kindle Worlds, which is a fan fiction type deal with Amazon, using other authors’ worlds and inserting my own characters, with the authors’ permission. It’s a learning experience for me.

I have two big books I’m working on for myself—Virtually One and Shahrukh’s story, titled Web of Desire. Shahrukh’s book is calling to me a lot more urgently, mainly because he’s Kurdish-American and well, if you’ve been reading the news, the Kurds are in the midst of several major battles. My spy characters want to play in that world.

Thank you so much Gennita for joining me for a chat in my little corner of the blogging world. Looking forward to reading/listening to more of your stories.
