Hello and welcome!

This time I am doing something different. I am not the interviewer and I have an audio file SQUEEEEE

The chat is between Sharon Hamilton and Luke Paulsen, who is hailing from SEAL My Destiny, book 6 in the awesome SEAL Brotherhood series by one of my fave authors, Sharon Hamilton.

 

Before listening to the chat between Sharon and Paul, I would like to tell you a bit about him. Here is the book blurb:

His short story came out in the awesome SEALed With A Kiss anthology published February 9, 2014. But tomorrow we get to read his full length story, YES!!!!! The release day is June 1, 2014. I am so looking forward to reading it.

Yes, it is true, the rough draft of ‘Luthien Story’ is done.  I even set up a contest for people to guess at the word count of it on the event page that was, my FB page, etc., even am about to offer a prize of an arc of ‘Guardians of the Future’.   The younger generation is growing up, like a bunch of weeds.  Their parents will trim them into line.   Snicker.  Yes, I am somewhat stoked, but more lost than anything.   I promised myself a break, but am fighting to settle down.   Of course you know what that means.  Yup, working at the first edit and rewording where I think it is needed.   The books I want to read when I get this done aren’t going anywhere.  (and yes, maybe I can settle down when this is done.)

My chat with Liam

Hello and welcome!

Do you ever wonder about chance meetings? How a comment rolls into a delightful experience?

I commented on a thread about a book at a FB party, then I got curious about the series. The blurbs caught my attention, so I got all of books in the series. I spent the next few days reading the books… or more like inhaled them, they were so good. That is how I met my next guest whom I fell in love with and he is now one of my book boyfriends.

And here he is…

What is your full name? 

William Alexander McIntosh III, but my friends call me Liam. We’re going to be friends, right?

I wish you could be… for real…

Do you have a nickname?

Ha. Evie has been known to call me her Boy Wonder. But as I said, my friends call me Liam.

What is one word best describes you?

Loyal.

Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Cargo shorts, brown leather belt, white t-shirt, blue oxford button down shirt on top.

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?

In a lot of ways our book was Evie’s story. I’d do anything for her, and Zoe knows that. She also knows I’ve got some unsettled business with my family, but now isn’t the time to deal with that. Not when my new family needs me to be strong and stable. So she portrayed me accurately in the here and now. There are some layers she hasn’t yet explored, though.

You say that like there’s more to your story.
Evie and I are getting married next year, and we’ve invited Zoe to the wedding. I’ll let Zoe decide how much of that story she wants to tell.

What makes you laugh out loud?

My step-son, Max. He’s going to be a stand-up comedian when he grows up. Evie when she’s pissed off. Some of the new friends I’ve made here in Wardham. The men are…well, let’s just say they’re super-protective of their women. That can be comical at times.

What is your favourite dessert?

Evie.

What is your favourite drink?

Scotch.

What is your greatest fear?

Turning into my father.

What is your favourite colour?

Yellow.

What do you wear when you go to sleep?

Cotton drawstring pants. I used to sleep naked, but we’ve got three kids in our house and most nights at least one of them shows up at some point for water or cuddles.

What is the perfect romantic date?
A private picnic. Lots of champagne and strawberries, and the entire afternoon to lay in the sun.

How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?

Not really. Maybe the bottom of my feet, but I’m quick, and I’ll turn that around pretty quickly.

What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Brown sugar. Reminds me of Evie making everyone oatmeal. After she sprinkles brown sugar on top, I have this fantasy of slowly licking her fingers clean.

When you look at a woman what catches your interest?

Honest enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. Great posture. Long hair. A quick smile. 

Do you have somebody in your life now?

Not just somebody. I’ve got Evie. And she’s perfect.

What is one word best describes her?

Super-human.

Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?

Sure is. Turns out this little town I’ve moved to is exploding with love stories. Before I arrived, Evie’s sister reunited with her first boyfriend, and one of her best friends found love with the guy next door. And now I’m working for Evan and Ty West, the founders of Go West Winery, and something tells me Zoe is hanging around just in case they find their perfect mates. She has crushes on them, it’s cute.

I think Zoe is not alone in the crush area, I can’t wait for Evan’s story.

Begin the celebration, it is a long weekend… give that two points.  Of course long weekends come with their quarks and pitfalls.  This one is especially busy, little bro is home and that always keeps a person hopping.  We or should I say, he, is doing yard cleaning.  I am supplying the food, yes, he will have help.  There is also the 50th anniversary of the school I graduated from going on… I won’t be going to that, I have a cold and don’t want to spread it around, not that I can’t be generous at times.  Beyond the revolving door syndrome that will be going on in the house I will be having company coming, not for long they they too count.  Add to the the possibility of getting my new kitchen sink installed, faucet and other goodies, well you see what I am facing.  Real down side…

What is your full name?

Do you have a nickname?
My family often calls me Rush.

What is one word best describes you?
My dear, I would not repeat that word in the presence of a lady.

I giggle..  he thinks I am a lady 😀

Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
I have been working in the fields with my new thresher. I am wearing a white shirt and breeches.

Looking him up and down, I think he could wear a potato sack and still look dashing… sigh

 Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
The lady was kind and portrayed me in a better light than I deserve. For that, I thank her.

What makes you laugh out loud?
A saucy retort from a quick witted woman. Sadly, it’s a rare occurrence.

Not really rare if you hang around me !

What is your favourite dessert?
Clootie dumplings. Cook makes them with apples, and they are the best in all of Scotland.

I have to check this out, never heard of it before… here it is… YUM

Brandy—French brandy, of course.

What is your greatest fear?
I trust you will keep this to yourself. My greatest fear is that my family does not need me.

My favourite color is the rich pink of heather. There is nothing more beautiful than a field of heather in bloom—except, perhaps, the glow of pink on a woman’s cheeks after I’ve made love to her.

What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Lass, that is a very intimate question for a woman to ask a man. But if you must know, come closer, and I will whisper the answer in your ear. I lean closer… Yes, that’s it. I wear only what God, in his Grace, gave me upon birth. I see I have shocked you. Forgive me.

No, no… I like a man who wears that… believe me, it would take a lot to shock me 😀

What is the perfect romantic date?
Ah, romance. Perhaps a walk along the shores of my childhood home, the Isle of Mull, with a picnic to follow.

How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
A gentleman is not ticklish.

What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Freshly baked bread. The smell reminds me of a voyage I took recently, and the young lady who played cook for us. Her freshly baked bread was almost as luscious as she.

I love the smell of fresh baked bread, my grandmother and my mother baked a lot too. I can almost smell it now just thinking about it.

When you look at a woman what catches your interest?
Her eyes, of course. What else? A gentleman doesn’t look lower.

I am openly giggling now… ya right

Do you have somebody in your life now?
I do. A woman who I met under interesting circumstances. But, as I am a gentleman, I cannot explain beyond saying, she did her best to defend her sister’s honor—including, shooting me.

What is one word best describes her?
Determined. A quality I find refreshing.

Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
My book is, indeed, part of a series. To Tame a Highland Earl is the first MacLean Highlander novel. You will see my brother Ash, and I am sure there is much in store for my wife’s sister Grace. The chit needs to be taught a good lesson, and I believe Miss Scott knows just the gentleman to do it. There is more to come besides these two, but I will not give away all the secrets.

Oh, I can’t wait to read them.

So there you go. I had the opportunity to read Erroll’s story and I can tell you this. It is a great story, I could not put it down. A great love story placed in the Highlands in the 1800s full of adventure, some mishaps, and with a happy ending. Sparks fly between Erroll and Eve from the get-go. I recommend it with 5 stars. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
