Jess’ Chat with Eden

Hello and welcome!

Remember my new feature where I invite my friends and they bring their fave characters? Today I have my very good friend Jess with her guest and guess who it is? I was surprised when she said who her guest is and I asked her why. Her response was: “Because I love her personality and what she does.”

Read on and find out who it is.

Jess: What is your full name?
Eden Eagle Claw

Jess: Do you have a nickname?
Eden: Some refer to me as The Tratchar, others call me Tratchar Eden.

Jess: What is one word best describes you?
Eden: I tend to be a bit of a free spirit and maybe just a little dangerous. So, in one word? I am Tratchar.

Jess: Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Eden: I am wearing a green velvet gown with golden trim. I thought it would be better than my tunic and boots that I usually wear.

Jess: Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
Eden: She tried to brush over the fact that all these changes are rather overwhelming. I am learning how to deal with them through.

Jess: What makes you laugh out loud?
Eden: My children, they are my treasures, and I am very proud of them.

Jess: What is your favourite dessert?
Eden: Anything with a touch of mint in it.

Jess: What is your favourite drink?
Eden: There is nothing more refreshing than cool water from a mountain stream.

Jess: What is your greatest fear?
Eden: That the Demons will get their hands on my Gabriel or our children one day. I admit, it would hunt each and every one down personally if they ever touched my family.

Jess: What is your favourite colour?
Eden: I love the colour of the leaves as they break out of their buds in spring, it is such a fresh look and makes you feel so alive.

Jess: What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Eden: When you are raising six curious, and very rambunctious children, you make sure you are covered, not that that can’t be changed very quickly, being an Elf has its moments.

Jess: What is the perfect romantic date?
Eden: Anywhere Gabriel and I can find to spend a little time together, relaxing, so we can indulge in a little cuddling. I will go to any lengths to be held in his arms.

Jess: How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
Eden: We will ignore this question, if you don’t mind. Eden blushes profusely

Jess: What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Eden: I love the smell of pine, it reminds me of the deep forest and our hideaway. Eden sighs dreamily

Jess: When you look at a man what catches your interest?
Eden: I only have eyes for my Gabriel.

Jess: Do you have somebody in your life now?
Eden: As I said, Gabriel is my world, outside of our children. He is the High Lord General Gabriel Eagle Claw, Chief Commander of the Elven Armed Forces.

Jess: What is one word best describes him?
Eden: Gabriel is powerful and in many ways he is larger than life. There is no Elf better than my Gabriel.

Jess: Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
Eden: I am one of the main characters in the Elven Chronicles and the series will be ready to evolve within the next two years. In the meantime, we continue to fight the Demon Hordes and the Drazon. We will prevail at some point and our people will finally know what it is like to live in a time of true, lasting peace. It has been eons since we have known that.

Thank you Eden for taking the time to stop by, I know the situation is escalating in the war with the Demons. Sending my warmest greetings to everybody, especially Loth… and Eöl of course. Thank you Jess for inviting Eden for a chat.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the chat.

Check out Jess’ review of “Gabriel”. My review is there too, a few pages back, just look for seelk 😉

If you are new to the Elven Chronicles, Eden is one of the major players in the series and we come to meet her in book 1 of the series, “Gabriel”.

1 Gabriel-coverSM

He is a living legend, a master swordsman, and a hero of the Elven Empire. He had led his Warriors home in victory from a war that had lasted centuries. He is the High Lord General Gabriel Eagle Claw, Supreme Commander of the Combined Elven Forces, and his word is law.

She is a force of nature, an Elven maiden trained in the art of survival by a Fae Warrior and she is just coming into the knowledge of her powerful talent. All of her life she has been able to converse with the forests about her. The leaves rustled their news into her ears, and the life force of the trees transmit their needs to her, for she is an Elf with a gift lost in legend. She is Eden, Guardian of the light of the Elven forests. TRATCHAR. The trees shout her title. Her people whisper it in awe.

“Catch,” the warning comes just in time to alert General Gabriel to attention and warrior that he is he is quick to react just as an arrow knocks a young Elven maiden from a tree branch that he has chosen to stand under, and he catches her as she falls. When blue eyes meet silver each know they have met their life mate, but such things as not as quickly accepted as they are recognized. He would have order in his ranks; she must be free to mark her own trail; he would bind her, tie her, control her. She would test his patience and will to the limit, and challenge his rights to own what she would not give freely.

She isn’t what the doctor ordered, but she’s just what he needs

1000 years after Earth has been devastated by a viral plague, the few survivors turn to genetic engineering and advanced robotics to ensure the future of the human race. But
not everyone is happy with artificial life living amongst humans, least of all Peyton Chase, a doctor with a harrowing past. When he’s ‘gifted’ with a state-of-the-art companion that he can’t send back, Peyton is far from pleased. She’s sentient. She’s sexy. She’s everything he doesn’t want complicating his life. He nicknames her Hell. She nicknames him lots of unladylike things, at least in her mind. Because there are rules to a relationship like theirs. Master and Slave. She’s supposed to obey him in all things. But if that’s true, why can’t she stop meddling in his life? Unfortunately, time is running out for Hell. Her own desperate past is about to catch up to her with deadly results.
“You saved my life when it would’ve been easier to let me die,” said
Hell. An incredible realization, especially considering killing her had been
the thought most on Peyton’s mind when he’d initiated the scan. “Why?”
The warmth of his arm pulled away, but his comforting scent lingered. He picked up a nearby cloth and busied himself with wiping down the scanning array’s control panel. “I swore an oath once, to help those in need regardless of personal opinion.”
“But you don’t practice regularly anymore. Doesn’t that relieve you of clinical obligation?”
A flush spread from the deep ‘V’ of his tunic and up his neck. His gaze snapped to hers, hot and hard. “Would you rather have died?”
“No.” Ignoring the numb tingle in her limbs, she twisted so her feet hung off the scanner bed and touched the icy floor. “I’m grateful for your help. But I don’t want to be an obligation. I’ve caused you enough trouble already.” Chest suddenly tight, she sucked in a breath. “Is there someone else here that I can stay with?”
“You want to stay with someone else?” He tossed the cloth down on the scanning bed, his lips a thin line.
“No, but I figured it’s what you wanted.”
“What I want—” he snapped, then stopped. He turned away from her, his body rigid as he thrust his fingers through his dark hair. His face was set in hard lines when he turned back to her. “What I want is to keep you safe. You’re the most important thing that’s ever happened to humanity, and those bastards—” He stopped again, as if whatever the bastards in question had done was too difficult for him to say. He shook his head and tried again. “I got a call from Markus Willbright from The Factory, just before you woke up. They’re looking for you, Hell.”
Willbright. Willbright. “Wait…” She clutched her temples as she slid off the scanner and stood. “I remember him!” She glanced at Peyton and caught his grim nod. But the excitement, whisking through her at the fact she could actually remember something, quickly faded. Why did that name make her feel uncomfortable? She had a vague impression of a quiet man of mixed Asian ancestry who’d come to see her in her glass-walled room. He’d only ever looked at her and tapped on his tablet, recording whatever it was that scientists recorded, then disappeared again behind closed doors. But Peyton obviously hated him by the anger flaring in his eyes.
“What did you tell him?”
“I lied. I told him I’d never heard of a Bio-roid before, let alone seen
one, and said I was quite happy with my new Factory-made sex doll, thank you very much.”
He’d lied to protect her? She sat back down on the scanner with a thump. “Did he believe you?”
“Probably not.” Peyton’s attention was fixed on retrieving a data cube from the scanner array, the handsome planes of his face set hard. Clearly all of this was a burden to him that he’d rather not carry.
“Wouldn’t it have been easier to have just told him the truth and sent me back?”
The flush deepened across his cheeks, giving his tired expression a
fevered cast. “No.”
“Because of this.” He held up the translucent blue data cube for her to see before closing his fingers over it again. “I managed to piece together some of the fragmented engrams rupturing your hippocampus.”
“And?” she prompted after it became apparent he wasn’t going to say anything further.
“And, like I told you before, you’re never going back to The Factory
The New Earth series continues in February 2016!
Peyton’s Doll—Part Two

Peyton has his hands full in part two… and Hell likes it. A lot. Mostly. Especially when he’s holding her. But is there a place for her in his life? If it’s not enough that the revelations of her past at The Factory threaten to break their relationship apart.  Between the appearance of Peyton’s meddling Aunt Joanna, a truly horrible breakfast, a chance encounter with an ex-lover, and the crack of a whip on his ass, Peyton may not survive to see what life with Hell has in store for him next.

2015 in review

Hello and welcome!

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for my blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 5,700 times in 2015. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 5 trips to carry that many people.

Click here to see the complete report.

THANK YOU all who came by and for your support in spreading the word about my chats with my book boyfriends, girlfriends, authors, narrators, artists. I hope you will join me this year too and discover new worlds crafted by amazing authors and narrators.
