Thank you Alec for chatting with me. Well will see about that. I bet that if us readers will ask for more, Ms. Healy will give us more. Pretty pleeeeeeze… with a cherry on top!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So what did you think?
Alec’s book is AlecPhantom by Dani Healy, a new author for me.
“To have the strength to overcome life’s obstacles, you first must have faith that something better is just around the corner.”
Some secrets are meant to tear us apart, but what if one could bring us closer together?
In the early spring of 1998, Scarlett Mitchel fell for a guy she met online. A guy whose face she has never seen, but whose voice melts her heart. She just can’t understand why he doesn’t want to meet face to face.
That’s because Alec Cavanaugh has a secret. One that he refuses to give up so easily… until Scarlett gives him an ultimatum. Either the secret goes, or she does.
Rated 17+ for adult related themes/brief sensual content
My review – 5 stars
– Up till 2am
Well Ms. Healy, I blame you for being up so late.
My first from the author and I started it thinking I will read a few pages before sleep. Well… I could not stop reading! Love the style of writing, it was so easy and light for the first half, the story grabbed me from the first page and with each page found myself more invested. Loved the chemistry between Scarlett and Alec. Their story is intense but the reward at the end is so good. I laughed, I cried, I shouted at them to not be stubborn. Brought back quite a few memories, dial-up internet and the songs mentioned in the story. I recommend this story with 5 stars. Looking forward to more, I hope more characters will get their HEA too.
I love discovering new authors and their worlds, and I am glad I found Ms Healy’s. I love her style of writing and will be checking out more of her books.
Author Bio
Hi there, I’m Dani!
starts singing my theme song In West Broward County, I was born and raised…at the pool is where I spent most of my days…rockin’ out to music and breakin’ the rules…chillin’ with my besties in and out of school…but then a couple ideas popped in my head…they started makin’ trouble, that’s what I said…I published one little book and my mom yelled, “Yay”…she said, “Go and write another one…live, laugh, love, pray!”
Okay, now that that’s out of my system, let’s get serious lol I was born and raised in sunny southern Florida. My love for writing started at a very young age with poetry and song lyrics, but it wasn’t until 2010 that I tried my hand at writing a novel. I’m a writer, gamer, music lover, movie watcher, tackle hugger…where was I going with this? lol
I strive to take my readers through all the twists and turns that come with the emotional states of love and loss, but I also want to make people laugh and allow them to escape reality for a little while. I appreciate you taking the time to read my bio, and I hope you enjoy falling in love with my characters as much as I have hugs
Audiobook to listen to: La Vie en Rose
Hello and welcome!
The audiobook I want to share about today is a not-to-be-missed story
La Vie en Rose: Life in Pink
By: Lydia Michaels
Narrated by: Brian Callanan
Emma Sanders has always dreamt of being a bride, wearing fancy gowns, pretty pearls, and – of course – falling madly in love. Then life happened. Finding herself one fiancé short of her happily ever after, she leaves the fairytales behind. Some days are simply too perilous for pink gowns and pearls.
Riley Lockhart is the sort of man who can make a woman lower her gaze with only a smile. That he doesn’t realize his charm makes him all the more enchanting. Determined to save Emma the pain of her breakup, he steps in as a friend, but soon finds himself wanting more.
She was just a girl, but she somehow winds up being the strongest woman he’s ever known. Losing her is not an option and when life can’t be tied neatly in a pretty little bow, he holds tight to all that he loves most in this world – his Emma. His hero.
Sometimes the greatest scars are worn on the inside.
Isn’t the cover beautiful? I love it!
The story and the voice telling make it …
a must listen
I picked up this book because I love Mr. Callanan’s voice and I am glad I did.
It starts out like any other story, character intros, showing the dynamics between the main characters. I was zoning out a bit in the beginning at the very detailed scenes, BUT… am I glad the author did that because the twist in the story is major, I mean life-altering major, I did not expect and what happens after is very detailed and eye-opening for somebody who has not gone thru that. It is about love, loyalty, friendship, family, what it means to have those when you need them the most. The book has crazy LOL moments, steamy dirty-talk scenes, and tear jerker ones too.
It ends well, but have tissues ready. Emma and Riley’s wows are just beautiful, the nicknames for each other cracked me up. It put me thru the emotional wringer, but OH SO WORTH IT !!!
I think this is the best I heard so far from Mr. Callanan. He outdid himself in every way, the various voices, the emotions, the passionate delivery made this an enjoyable experience.
Overall – 5 stars • Performance – 5 stars • Story – 5 stars
It has been almost 3 years, December 18, 2017 to be exact WOW time flies since I listened to it, but I still remember the feeling of contentment when finished.
There is a sale on right now, so hurry and get it HERE.
Audiobooks to listen to: Loverboy
Hello and welcome!
I just finished an ARC of this audiobook I was lucky to get from one of my fave authors, Sarina Bowen, and I had to tell you about it even thought the release date is December 1, 2020. I was part of the cover reveal too, if you missed that, you can find it here.
CREDITS: Photo by Wander Aguiar, Design by Hang Le
Secrets, desires, and exquisite pie. It’s all in a day’s work at The Company.
Growing up, I was the rough guy from the wrong neighborhood who couldn’t catch a break. Posy was the pampered girl I tried to impress. But I managed to steal only a single kiss before I had to skip town.
Now I’m back, and the tables are turned. Posy runs a struggling pie shop. I’m the VP of a secretive billion-dollar security company.
Not that I can tell her.
There’s a murderer on the loose in New York, and he seems to spend a lot of time at Posy’s shop. I can’t let on that I’m here to bring him down before he can harm a hair on her pretty head.
Going undercover as Posy’s new barista wasn’t my idea. I don’t even drink coffee. But now I have to call her “boss,” and do everything the curvy perfectionist asks of me. I’d forgotten how much we infuriate each other, and that she somehow fills me with both irritation and desire in the same breath.There’s nobody more skilled at stealth ops than me. I can bring this killer down. Right after I take a cold shower. And just as soon as I figure out how to make a skinny peppermint latte with milk poured in the shape of a kitten…
Audiobook narrated by Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin, with special appearance from Emma Wilder.
Gunner goes under cover… as a barista. He’s had easier days! 🙂 Joe Arden’s voices are sublime ❤
Add it to your Goodreads TBR list.
Here is another audio teaser, with Vanessa Edwin‘s voice… Kisses on a street corner?
… and another one where Posy wakes up. And she’s not in her own bed…
My review – 5 stars
I loved all of Ms. Bowen’s books I listened to so far, and ‘Loverboy’ is no exception.
A great mix of sweet love story, second chance angst, suspense, some comic relief and of course HEA ending. Posy’s inner voice cracked me up and was well voiced. Loved Gunnar’s protective alpha, charming flirt and sweet gooey heart. Great secondary characters, Duffy was one of them, funny and sweet, smart ass young man. Scout piqued my interest too. I hope they get their story too.
Loved loved the voices giving life to the characters in this great story. Joe Arden is on my ‘eargasm’ voices list, same with Emma Wilder. Vanessa Edwin is a new voice to me and will have to add her to my ‘to listen more from’ list. Checked her backlist, I added quite a few onto my TBL wish list already.
My review for The Piper by Lily Baldwin
A short but potent story that had me in tears at times, sometimes in sadness as my heart was breaking for both Cait and Ewan and their struggle, but also in joy on how they overcame their injuries and found their HEA with each other. One of my fave quotes from this story: “I don’t even feel dented anymore. I feel full and sumptuous and perfect.” and alludes to a saying that the cook told Cait. Well woven tale that will stay with me for a while. – 5 stars
I hope you will give these stories a go and maybe discover a new author or two. I know I will.
My review: 5 stars
I love the book, I laughed, I cried, it broke my heart then put it back together. I do believe in fate and is true that Ryan is a rarity. I am glad that he found his ‘the one’ with Angie, they complement each other in many ways and their chemistry is palpable. Loved the movie references and the quotes…. Love this one: “The rearview is smaller than the windshield.”… My heart was breaking while following their journey to HEA, how callous some of those around them were. He had great friends though, loved his family and their closeness. His sister was a hoot. My first book from Ms. Becker and I thoroughly enjoyed. – 5 stars
Ms. Mallon is one of my ‘eargasm’ voices and she did an excellent performance as usual giving each character their voice base on their temperament and state of mind. I love listening to her voices, male and female alike. I especially liked Ryan’s and Angie’s voices. – 5 stars
Their story is Awakening of Amelia by Madison Grange and will be part of the Saints & Sinners Anthology releasing January 12, 2021.
Determined to make changes in her life, Amelia Morgan never expected to find herself as a hospice nurse in a secluded cliffside estate overlooking the ocean. Spending her days listening to tales of her patient as a young woman, Amelia is swept up in the story of Audrey’s first love.
Pulled to a place he left years ago, Demetrius Matteo confronts his past only to find himself drawn to the young nurse caring for his old love. She reminds him of Audrey in her youth, but she is so much more. Conflicting feelings keep him in the shadows, where it is safer for everyone involved.
Can Demetrius give Amelia the one thing he couldn’t bring himself to give Audrey? Does Amelia love him enough to accept his darkest secret? When Amelia’s life is threatened, perspectives are changed forever.
My review: 5 stars
It starts as the usual contemporary story and then the reader is slowly drawn into the paranormal world. I loved the premise and the ease how the author introduced the different characters. Audrey is a hoot! You know the type of spunky grandma full of stories? That is her. Then there is Demetrius LE SIGH loved how gentle he was with Amelia and let her come to terms with entering his world. HEA at its best. Ms. Granger is a new author for me and now that I got a taste of her writing, I will have to check out her other books.
Author Bio
Madison Granger is a free-spirited late bloomer. She stubbornly lives by three beliefs: dreams can come true, never give up, and you’re never too old to try new things. She is living proof of all three adages, vowing she isn’t done by a long shot.
As a girl, she entertained her friends with stories of knights in shining armor coming to rescue the fair princess with a happy ever after. Or maybe it was their favorite rock stars falling madly in love with their giggling pre-teen selves. Either way, the stories kept them coming back for more. Today, Madison has changed brave knights and rock stars to shapeshifters and werewolves, but the happy ever after remains.
Her love of books never wavered through her life. Not ever finding the one book that told it just right, Madison decided to write it herself. The Kindred series is her “heart story,” and she’s only half done.
In between the ongoing saga of the Kindred, Madison manages to calm her muse by writing other stories. She’s now adding Urban Fantasy to her repertoire of Paranormal Romance.
Madison lives in southern Louisiana and enjoys reading, cheering on the New Orleans Saints, and spending time with friends and family.
“The time is close, but not yet at hand. When the last of the noble guardians claims his mate, a reign of peace and prosperity will begin.”
Logan and Lucas Ferguson have met their Promised Souls. The wise woman’s prophecy is now complete. It should be smooth sailing from now on, right? Unfortunately, the twins haven’t claimed their mates yet. And it’s harder to accomplish when both parties aren’t accounted for.
Lucas is M.I.A. No one has seen him, and he didn’t leave a very detailed note. Not even Rhona’s visions can lock on him. Time is passing and the Kindred have nothing to go on to find him. It doesn’t bode well for the Elite Guardian.
To complicate matters, forest fires are sweeping through the Smoky Mountains, threatening to destroy the homes of all who live there. As the Kindred battle to save their homes, they discover they must also venture into a different realm in order to rescue one of their own.
Sounds like a good story, doesn’t it? Love the cover!
My Chat with Tucker
Hello and welcome!
Oh do I have a surprise for you today. My next guest is one of the modern warriors is so easy to fall love with.
As I couldn’t see Tucker in person, I asked Sharon to ask him my questions and send me his answers. I was surprised with an audio recording SQUEEEE
Happy listening 😉
Thank you Tucker for answering my questions and thank you Sharon for making this possible.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well, what do you think? Did you enjoy the chat? How about the format? I think it was so much more enjoyable hearing my newest BBF answering my questions.

As he mentioned, Tucker hails from The Bone Frog Brotherhood series by Sharon Hamilton. Aren’t these covers yummy?

Older SEALs, silver-haired, but still prime time.

This series chronicles the relationship between Brandy and Tucker, who meet on New Years Eve, at a SEAL wedding. Tucker has been out of the teams for nearly ten years, but reluctantly attends this wedding. He misses his former teammates and the Brotherhood that they share. There he meets Brandy and their instant chemistry continues through all the books in this series, from their wedding, to their eventual new family and home remodel. Tucker remains one of the “Senior” members, one of the most respected “older guys” on SEAL Team 3, but he can still out press and sometimes outrun any of the younger ones.

The voice giving life to Tucker is one of my ‘eargasm’ narrators whom you probably saw me mention on my blog many times, the The Pirate Storyteller, JD Hart! THANK YOU!

He is the voice that brings all Sharon Hamilton‘s characters to life. I love it when he whispers in my ear 😀

My review: 5 stars
It is so good to be back in Ms. Hamilton’s SEAL world. This time with the older generation. It was great seeing all the characters I came to love in the other series make an appearance in Tucker’s story. And what a story it is. Spanning 5 novellas, the listener (or reader) is following along his journey to HEA, well deserved. He found Brandy when he least expected, just as she found him, that night changed both their lives. Their chemistry is felt throughout and I think intensified throughout the 5 books. I love how vivid the scenes are, being at home or on a mission and it touches so many issues military families deal with while on active duty and after.
Mr. Hart did an awesome job as usual, the various characters got their own voices accentuating their temperament, adding the emotional touch for each scene as needed. One of the best one so far.
Thank you Ms. Hamilton and Mr. Hart for the very enjoyable hours listening to Tucker and Brandy’s story. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I hope you will give the series a try, available in ebook, print or audio, follow the link from Sharon Hamilton’s website. While there, check out the other series too, I am sure you will find your next BBF there too 😉

You can also check out all JD Hart’s work on his website. He creates the audio samples and the awesome book trailers too, see youtube.

My Chat with Sagan – “Sinners and Saints” Anthology – 1

Hello and welcome!

Today starts a series of chat with characters from the upcoming anthology Sinners and Saints, a collection of stories I am looking forward diving in.

Read on to find out how I met my first guest…

A crash of the door opening diverts my attention from the papers I am working on. I look at the open doorway and wonder how it got open. There is no one there. Not only that, but I distinctly remember locking it. This doesn’t make any sense.

As I stand to go to close the door and relock it, a dark haired, blue eyed man walks through and I freeze. My mind doesn’t though. Nor do my eyes as they slowly trace every line of his body from top to bottom. One part of my mind drools, despite the other side warning me that he could be dangerous. This is break and entry, although there is nothing wrong with the door. No, the drooling side of my brain argues, no criminal looks like this. The man’s body is made of granite and he has the face of an angel. I realize I am holding my breath and I let it out on a sigh. I don’t know whom this person is, but his body should be declared illegal. I think to myself, be still my beating heart.

The man with a body that could put a Greek god to shame crosses his arms over a well-honed chest I mentally slap my hands away from. He then drawls. I believe we have an appointment, Eniko.

Appointment? Appointment? What appointment? He knows my name, so I should have some idea who he is, right? I look closely at him and two words form in my mind, Oh my. They aren’t the right ones for the situation and I thank the Fates that I don’t say them out loud. I see the look of expectation on his face and search my mind for something to say. I swallow and manage to squeak out a question, Who are you?

Sagan. He says the word as if it should mean something to me.

Suddenly the name strikes a bell in the back of my head. We did have an appointment, but that was five months ago! I feel a touch of indignation, he might look like he walked out of a wet dream, but he stood me up for one of my appointments. He suddenly doesn’t look that good. Then he moves and I notice he is wearing leather. Damn, but I love leather.

With no regard for propriety, Sagan shrugs off my sudden shock and walks further into the room. The pants move with him like they are a part of his body. DAYUM

I was busy at that time. I had something very important to take care of. Sagan speaks as he sits down on my couch and crosses those long well shaped legs.

I inhale deeply as the scent of leather wafts through the air with his every movement. I so do love leather. Especially when it is surrounding a bitable… I mean lickable… I mean… never mind what I mean. To try to get myself under control I say. It must have been very important to have kept you busy for five months.

Sagan looks suddenly uncomfortable and then admits. I was looking for my lost love. Ele.

I give another sigh. Figures. The man is already involved, just my luck. I continue on. I am to understand by your presence that you found Ele?

Sagan smiled widely and gave a curt nod. I did and I will never allow her to leave my side again.

You could have at least sent me a message to let me know you weren’t coming. I complain. I can’t help it. The man is a keeper and when we are through talking he is going to walk out the door and I will probably never see him again.

Sagan smiles and I watch helplessly as he reaches for me to pull me onto his lap. His voice caresses my senses like the finest velvet. That is alright, fair lady. Five months ago you would not have liked me at all. I am much more civilized than I was then. But to try to make amends for my thoughtlessness, I will send you a surprise.

Only a part of my mind is on what Sagan is saying, the other part is imagining what it would be like to run my fingers through his silky dark hair and down his rock hard abdomen, I mean chest. I hope I didn’t say that aloud. Sagan gives a throaty laugh and I blush. I never blush.

Sagan doesn’t wait for me to reply. He lifts me off of his lap, and smiling widely, he says, I think I know what will make you happy. I will send you that surprise when I get home and remember to.

I ask. What if I don’t like surprises?

Sagan laughs in amusement and assures me. You will like this one.

Aaaargh… Sagan is soooo arrogant. So tell me, how can you be so sure of yourself?

Simple, Sagan replies. I am a god. We know these things. He then rises to his feet and disappears.

I give a huff as I talk to myself in the emptiness of the room. Gods are so full of themselves.

Sagan’s voice suddenly sounds in my mind. You need not worry that I will send you a god. Most of them are fools anyway.

Unlike you? Without Sagan standing in front of me to make me nervous I can be as sarcastic as I feel at the moment.

They are definitely not like me, Sagan replies. Ele knows how lucky she was that I found her. She is happy at my side.

I roll my eyes at Sagan’s arrogance, then remember how he looked in those leather pants. Alright, I admit. Ele probably does and is, I will admit that much. But he is still extremely full of himself.

I blush again as I hear Sagan’s laughter and his renewed promise. I will send you something very special.

There is silence after that and I know this time Sagan is gone for sure. I race to my desk to write everything down before I forget it. I have actually interviewed a god! My mind then lingers on how those leather pants clung to him and I sigh as a crystal vase with two-dozen perfect sunset roses appear on my desk. How did he know? The smell of leather is quickly erased by the fragrance of these beautiful flowers. I smile as I remove one from the vase and wonder what Sagan is going to send me.

Hope you enjoyed the ‘chat’ with Sagan, I sure did and I have to tell you his story is really good 😉

He hails from M. A. Abraham‘s story, The Temple, which will be part of the Saints & Sinners Anthology releasing January 12, 2021.

Ele is a powerful goddess in her own right, so she doesn’t worry about her safety as her sisters think she should. She is beautiful in ways that catches the wrong type attention. In order to keep her safe, her sisters blackmail a god from another world to take Ele into his care.
Sagan is a warrior god on his planet and every bit as powerful as Ele. He is also the epitome of what every woman thinks a god should look like. Without seeing Ele, he promises to keep her safe and keep his distance. After seeing Ele, he doubts if he can keep his word.

Cover designed by me, it is simple and I think it fits the story. Let me know after you read ‘The Temple’ 😉

You can read Chapter 1 on the website.

My review: 5 stars
A different type of story than what I am used to from the author, jokingly told her… Not bad for not having Elves in it 😛 All joking aside, it was engaging, and it has a HEA, very important! Sagan is a hero that grows on you, he wins Ele’s heart and she tames him, capturing his heart and soul. Their journey has twists and at times I didn’t think they will make it, but they do! YAY

NEW RELEASE! Arizona Thunder by Natasza Waters

Hello and welcome!

I would like to tell you about a book I just read, it was released yesterday and I think you love PNR you will love it too.

If you remember I had Quinn, one of the main characters from book 1 for a chat recently, if you missed it check it out here.

Congrats to Natasza Waters for the release of book 2 of the Vyro Creek Series!

In a sleepy, backwater town, three handsome brothers own the biggest spread in Arizona, known as Vyro Creek. The Connellys are ranchers by day. At night, Quinn, Connell, and Donnor patrol the desert, searching for illegal breeding nests, and rogue vampires. Not only to keep the county safe but the three intriguing women who live in the neighboring LariaT Ranch.
Although born half-human and half-vampire, Ari is the first woman who makes Quinn’s immortal heart beat. Together, they ignite an unforgettable passion. He’s ready to spend eternity with her until forced to make a decision and sacrifice what he wants most.
Unannounced, a threat rides into town on a dark horse. The Second Bloods’ rebellion gains strength, and the woman Quinn loves becomes a target. When all hell breaks loose, he’s captive behind impenetrable bars, but if not restrained, he’ll end her life.

My review: 5 stars

I thought book 1 was good, but this one is so much more. Intense, lots happening, and the twists … oh boy! Be ready for those because they will have you hopping. I loved how I got immersed even more in the story of the Connelly brothers and learning what the Connelly Clan represent in their world. I love Quinn even more for sacrificing himself for the greater good, but sad for him and Ari for what they are going through. Then seeing Connell and Lynn dance around each other GAH I wanted to shout at them LOL but both couples finally get it together. Cian is slowly becoming my fave though, he is quite a character and there is more to him than what he shows the world, and he means well even though his methods are questionable. As for Donnor, I have a feeling his hands will be full with Tess soon enough.
One of my fave characters is Lady Claudette, she is kickass and all kinds of awesome while being a lady at the same time, the bond she shares with her mate is a love story in itself. I hope we get to read their story too.
Well done Ms. Waters. Ready for the next story 😀

My Chat with Ilénè … and Kestriel?

Hello and welcome!

I had plans, but as usual the Elves had other ideas… see what happened earlier today 😀

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I look up from my editing as a knock sounds from my door. Before I have time to respond, the most beautiful woman I have ever seen saunters through the doorway. Wait a moment… I locked that door. This tells me it is another of MA’s characters, which should be interesting at the very least. She is an Elf, I can tell by the pointed ears and the number of weapons she carries like so much jewelry on her. She has dark hair that falls in waves down her back and past her waist, her complexion is luminous, her lips are full and red, her body is firm and toned with curves all in the right places. And she is dressed in some sort of uniform, or at least part of one. This tells me she is definitely a Dark Elven Elite Warrior.
My mystery guest looks at me with a sultry expression and, in a voice that I would kill for, asks. Enikő?
I let the husky, full-throated sound flow through me with appreciation before I answer. I am Enikő. I can tell this woman is used to being in command by the way she quickly takes over.
I am Ilénè, my guest announces in a matter of fact tone, then adds. I have a gift for you. A few friends and I went shopping. We also had something special made up for you. I think you are going to like what is in the box.
Ilénè walks into the room with a rolling gait that I know would make most men’s eyes immediately focus on her hips, and I quickly begin to clear the top of my desk. I get the feeling that anything liquid or breakable better get moved out of the way fast. I am right. I barely manage to get this done when Ilénè places a big box on the top of the desk and over any other paperwork I hadn’t been given time to gather. I hope nothing gets mixed up amongst the papers, especially the manuscript I was working on. The pages of the book under the box aren’t numbered and if they get mixed up it could be a nightmare to figure out.
The moment Ilénè drops the box on my desk she looks at me expectantly. I look at the large garment box, then at the excited gleam in Ilénè’s eyes and ask. If I untie the ribbon, will something pop out at me? I know from reading about Ilénè that she has a fun loving personality. She also hangs around with questionable characters, mainly the Eagle Claw twins. This means anything can happen.
Ilénè chuckles, and promises, This is not a practical joke.
I notice that the bow on top is as much for decoration as anything else. The cover of the box just slips off of the bottom. I place the top of the carton to the side and see what looks like half of a ton of white tissue paper inside of the bottom half. Alright, so I exaggerate a bit, but not by much. It doesn’t take me long to notice that there is a smaller box in the middle. I open it to find a pair of red stilettos. They are gorgeous, but I will kill myself if I ever try to wear them. How do girls walk in them? Give me Birkestocks or barefoot is even better. I look further into the box and then pull out a red costume. I figure it must be a costume, either that or someone forgot to pack part of the outfit into the box.
Ilénè laughs joyously as I look for more pieces to add to the clothing, then speaks. There is no more. We heard you were planning to take a trip to our lands and wanted to make you feel welcome. To do this, we have made you an honorary Dark Elven Elite Guardian. Welcome to the group.
I stammer. I don’t know what to say. Thank you doesn’t seem quite enough to cover it.
A moment later another knock sounds and Ilénè calls out. Come in if your nose is clean, stay out if it isn’t.
An Elven male walked through the doorway and I feel my knees weaken. He is blonde with hair that is every bit as long as Ilénè’s. He is wearing a blue coat with gold buttons and braiding. He is also drop-dead gorgeous.
Ilénè smiles, as the man stiffly walks into the room and she bursts out in laughter at his awkward movements. Enikő, meet my Life Mate, Kestriel.
I smile as I greet him. How do you do, Kestriel. I know he is a High Elf, so I figure I need to be a bit more formal in my greeting.
Kestriel nods at me in acknowledgement, then turns his attention to Ilénè. What did you do to my pants? They are so stiff they threaten to crack if I try to bend. I also can’t get them off.
Ilénè’s smile widens, as she replies. I am not sure. Cambria gave me something to help hold the creases in place.
Kestriel looks at me apologetically, then bellows at Ilénè. Do you have any idea how uncomfortable this is?
Feigning innocence, Ilénè responds. I would have starched them for you, but you weren’t happy about my efforts when I starched your last bit of laundry.
Kestriel grouched. Those were my shorts. I may be wearing that rash they gave me for another week.
Ilénè looks so pleased with her handiwork, as she agrees and asks. Would you like me to kiss it better?
Kestriel suddenly stiffens visibly. Then, with a nod, he picked Ilénè, slung her over his shoulder, and headed for the exit. As he moved forward he bade me farewell, but I could tell his mind was on other things.
Ilénè smiled as she waved goodbye, as she hung upside down across Kestriel’s shoulder, then called out. I will tell Cambria you loved your gifts. In the meantime, I believe I am being taken away to receive my just punishment for deeds I plan to work harder to improve upon. Ilénè then winks.
As the door of my office closes, I can hear Kestriel’s hand connect with Ilénè’s leather clad rear. It is followed by Ilénè’s shriek, then a giggle.
I look down at the red leather outfit that I am still holding in my hands and wonder that it is still there. The same uniform looked stunning on Ilénè, but …
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I hope you enjoyed the ‘chat’, I know I did 😀

Ilénè and Kestriel are from THE WARRIOR, book 4 in the Guardians of the Empire series by M. A. Abraham.

Ilénè is a Dark Elven Elite warrior of repute, one who knows her worth. She has led her father’s elite squad for the last one hundred years, but she is getting tired of the constant drill. She has decided it is time to settle down and have a family. The question is with whom?

Kestriel was raised in the way of the ancient High Elven people, and he serves as one of the Guardians of the Empire. It is an honour and one he appreciates to the fullest. He has no intentions of soiling his hands on an Elven female of questionable repute. Until he meets Ilénè.

The moment Kestriel meets Ilénè, he knows he has met his Life Mate. The trouble with this is that he grew up with the impression that it was the male who should be the aggressor in a budding relationship, not the woman. What is a poor Elven Dragon shifter to do?

My review: 5-stars
I loved Ilénè ever since she appeared in the series. A warrior I admire not only for her skills but the way she treats her close friends. Kestriel was a surprise, a High Elf mated to a Dark Elf? I had to read this story. His patience is what made me love him, she puts him through his paces. They find their HEA, but not without a few bumps. 5-star read as usual, the author puts her signature twists in at the least expected times.

You can read chapter 1 here.

I know you will enjoy it too, I hope you will give the series a chance.

There will be a 3-day event on Facebook to celebrate the release of The Warrior, come and join in! Follow the link. Awesome author and narrator spotlights on August 14 and 15. On August 13, M. A.
