I have a surprise visitor and I wanted to share with you.
I hear a light knock on my door and open it just as anther is about to be added to the first one. The first I notice is that the person standing before me has very long grey hair, the second is that he isn’t human. He is an Elf… and what an Elf.
When I don’t say anything, he begins.Eniko? Cambria sent me here, I also brought you a present from Athïan.
As this gorgeous Elf presents a huge bouquet of starflowers I give an excited squeak. Athïan never forgets.
I hold my arms out and they are suddenly filled with hundreds of freshly opened blossoms, and the whole house is filled with their fragrance.
With a smile so wide it threatens to stretch my cheeks even more, I invite this unknown Elf into my home. Come in, any friend of Athïan’s is a friend of mine.
To make things easier, he introduces himself,I am Anders, Cambria’s Life Mate. I believe you have met her.
I nod,I definitely have, and she must be ecstatic that the Fates chose you for her.
Ander’s laughs,I assume you approve. Cambria and Athïan told me what to wear.As Anders says this, he turns to show off his perfect physique, and I give a sigh. He has on the tightest pair of leathers. Did I hit it lucky with Athïan or what? He knows exactly how to make a girl smile, even when he isn’t with her in person. Not going to talk about the time we spend together… a girl doesn’t tell… right?
As I put the flowers into vases, I ask.Did they have other messages for me?
Not really, Anders admitted.Although, Athïan says that if you are interested, I am to bring you for a visit for the weekend.
I stop in the middle of putting the last of the flowers into a vase and stare at Anders as I quickly ask, When do we leave?
As soon as you get home on Friday. Everyone realizes that you live a double-life for now. Athïan isn’t terribly happy about it, but he says the two of you will have lots of time to spend together in the future. But that doesn’t mean it will ever be enough.Anders explains.
I am ready to leave when you are,I declare. Besides, I want to see what is going on in the Empire. Call me nosy.
Anders laughs, No wonder Athïan looks so happy all of the time. But you can’t go now, you have a workweek to finish.
Oh,I pretend to feel suddenly ill.I can’t go to work. I need the touch of Athïan’s healing hands.
Anders offers, I can take care of anything that ails you, unless that is of a personal nature, then that is up to Athïan.
I reply. My problem is definitely something that only Athïan can fix.
Well, in that case, I guess the sooner we leave, the quicker you will feel better. Do you need time to pack before we leave?Anders wonders, as I head for the door.
I grin at Anders as I reply. All I need, Athïan can provide.
Anders doesn’t question what I am talking about, or my motives. He is only too happy to leave now, for it means he will be back with Cambria that much sooner.
Wasn’t that sweet? So I will keep this short as I am out the door now and don’t worry if you do not hear from me till after the weekend. I will be very busy 😉
Lead on my galant messenger, I am ready for some hugs from my Life Mate.

Anders hails from The Tratchar, book 5 in The Guardians of the Empire by M. A. Abraham and is releasing tomorrow, March 5, 2021.
Cambria is a highly powered Tratchar, and her task is to take care of the Sentinels, in the same way her ancestors did, many millenniums before. She is good at her job and proud of what she does. She is also deadly as she is beautiful.
Anders isn’t one of the elite among the Guardians of the Empire, but he is happy to be numbered among them. To him, it is a point of pride. For, although he is one of the younger dragon shifters, he figures he has lots of time to develop.
All thoughts of his status, however, disappear into the mist when he sees a pretty young Elven female create a tree out of a seed she holds cupped in her hands. He watches in awe, as the small tree forms, and then loses all that he is to her as their eyes meet, for she is his life mate, and he can tell she is as aware of what he is to her as he is to her.

Check out the beautiful paperback cover. It pops, doesn’t it? I love it! Amazing work, Cora Graphics!
My review: 5-star A great addition to the series showing us how things are progressing in the Valley and the Guardians finding their Life Mates. Cambria and Anders are so good for and with each other. A few surprises await the reader, I know it will be well received.
I hope you will give it a try. I really enjoy the series, but then again I always feel good when I visit the Elven Empire.
