What is your full name?

Do you have a nickname?
Ciarah calls me the Lollipop man, because I have a penchant for licking sweet things.
No.
Leilah calls me Mr. Greek God Asshole. The witch has no sense of humor.

What is one word best describes you?
Hmm
I would say diplomat.
Fire.
Disciplined.

Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Dark slacks, navy blue button down shirt, leather jacket and black boots.
I’m on the way to the sparring gym where I teach martial arts, so I’m wearing sweats, t-shirt, hoodie and tennis shoes.
Blue jeans and a white button down shirt.
DAYUM they all look edible. Where is my drool rag?

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
I, do, indeed. Tarah and I are close friends. She was very careful to tell my side of our story very carefully.
Tarah is very precise. She stayed true to my fire nature and portrayed by nature as protector quite well.
I suppose so. She, like Ciarah, has a mind of her own.

What makes you laugh out loud?
Seeing my love Ciarah best one of us five, in particular, Raith, one of the oldest vampires in existence.
Ciarah besting the medieval warriors sent to arrest her and the other women accused of being witches.
What is there to laugh about?
I just want to hug him, so jaded, it breaks my heart.

What is your favourite dessert?
Why, Ciarah, of course. Of course… Lollipop man 😛
Cherries jubilee lit by my own fire and fed to me by Ciarah.

That we will lose Ciarah—again.
Not that we will lose Ciarah. We always lose her—eventually. When, is my greatest fear.
That Ciarah will once again control our lives.

What is your favourite colour?
Sky blue.
The deep blue of a hot flame.

What do you wear when you go to sleep?
Need you ask?
I guess not 😛
In winter, sweat pants. In summer, nothing.
Nothing. Vampires run hot.
They do? Hmm I wonder if I can touch him. I always thought vampires would be cold to the touch.

What is the perfect romantic date?
A moonlight picnic beneath the old oak on the property of a castle we five shared with Ciarah. le sigh
Roasting marshmallows over an open fire with Ciarah.
Romance is for the young and inexperienced.
Jaded much? I hope he lightens up a bit.

How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
That is something you will have to find out personally.
Is that an invitation? Not sure I should try, Ciarah might turn me into something slimy.
Dragons aren’t ticklish.
Vampires aren’t ticklish. I would advise you not test that theory.
I would not dream of it.

What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
Roses. It’s the soap Ciarah has favored over the centuries.
The smoky scent of wood burning. Making love with Ciarah in front of a fire burning in a large hearth.
Crisp winter air. Memories are dangerous. I know that very well, memories…

When you look at a woman what catches your interest?
The strength in her eyes.
Her warm smile.
Intelligent eyes.

Do you have somebody in your life now?
Oh yes. The same woman who has been in my life for millennia. We have known her in many incarnations and as many names. We first knew her as Ciarah. Today, she is Leilah Crowe.
Leilah, street witch, High Potential. The woman who has come in and out of our lives for thousands of years. The woman that binds us five together.
Ciarah has returned. But I will not allow her to become the focus of my life as she has been in the past. She betrayed me.

What is one word best describes her?
Indominable.
Magnificent.
Impetuous.

Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
Oh, yes, Reckless Witch is the first book in the Illumina Academy Reverse Harem series. There is a great deal in store for the readers of the Illumina Academy series. Leilah is on a direct course with her destiny. A destiny none of us could have conceived.
I feel something in the wind. The other two men who make up the five who have loved Ciarah for as long as we can remember, gargoyle Matthias James and wolf Caleb Dakota, know she has returned.
I fear there is much more in store for all of us. Where Ciarah goes, trouble follows.

I am so happy to have met you and looking forward to follow your journey. By the sounds of it, it will be dangerous and hope in the end you will be reunited with your Ciarah for good. Come for a chat again soon.

I am so excited to reveal to you the chat I had with Leilah.

As I couldn’t get her to sit with the hunks present, as she refused to be in the same room with them, my chat with her is separate from The Three, as she calls the 3 men (at the moment) in her life.

Leilah Crowe is a Street Witch when I got to meet her at first, then as I read the story found that she is so much more.

I love your first name, Leilah. What is your full name?
Leilah Miriam Crowe

Do you have a nickname?
God, no.

What is one word best describes you?
Me? I guess that depends who you ask. My grandmother called me determined. Blade would probably say I’m tough. But if you ask Raith, he’ll likely say the one word that describes me is irresponsible.

Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Black bra, fishnet top, leather skirt and leather boots.
I do like those boots. Kick-ass indeed.

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
She did, which caught me off guard. Aside from my familiar Stony, I didn’t think anyone knew me so well.

What makes you laugh out loud?
Seeing my familiar Stony, who is a pig, take in Raith Vanderkoff. That was hilarious!

What is your favourite dessert?
Chocolate ice cream.
So is mine. Let’s have some now.

Tequila

What is your greatest fear?
I can’t talk about that. No one knows. Not even Stony.

Tanzanite.

Panties and a t-shirt.

A quiet night cuddling on the sofa and watching TV.

I am ticklish on my stomach and knees. But don’t tell!

What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
My favorite smell is cinnamon rolls baking. They remind me of Grams. Though it’s best I don’t think of her.

When you look at a man what catches your interest?
The way he moves.

Do you have somebody in your life now?
No—yes. Not exactly. There are three men. They have all…captured my attention. I call them The Three.

Three! Do tell! What is one word best describes them?
Blade is cunning, Ethan is ferocious, Raith is cruel.
Really? Hmmm… that is not how they appear to me, but then again, I do not know your whole history… yet.

Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
Yes, this is the first book in the series where I, at last, meet my destiny.

I really enjoyed this book but I have to say the author is a bit cruel to leave me in suspense like that. Cliffhangers are not my fave.

My review: 5 stars

I am in love with this new world that Ms. Scott created. It has hot heroes, more than one, a heroine that kicks ass and asks questions later, which lands her in more than a pickle,  magic, suspense, mystery, adventure, slow burn intensity hints at scorching heat to come. The Three that we meet in this first book are so different, but compliment each other. One thing I didn’t expect is the not-quite-but-sort-of-cliffhanger ending, so not the author’s style. You are a cruel mistress, Ms. Scott, for leaving us and The Three hanging like that. I am giving it a 5-star despite that, because I know it will be worth the wait and this first book gave me enough to fuel my imagination until the next one releases.

Next book will be “Rogue Witch“, releasing February 15, 2021.

Audiobooks to listen to: KEEPING 6

You might remember the post with my review for Keeping 6 by one of my fave authors Freya Barker when it released in ebook back in 2018.

Well… I just finished the audio version and DAYUM … narrated by Muffy Newtown and Christian Fox, two of my fave voices, it was so much better than the voices I imagined when reading it.

Bookstore owner Kerry Emerson finally seems to be back in control of her life. Her failure of a marriage firmly in her rearview mirror and her recent business expansion a success, she is in charge of her own future. One that is looking better than ever.

The sight of the tall man, with the familiar salt-and-pepper goatee pushing open the door of her store, sets her hair on end. He doesn’t exactly bring good memories.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Damian Gomez is just looking for a decent cup of coffee when he walks into the small store offering books and brew. The pretty, feisty woman behind the counter is an unexpected surprise. Not at all unpleasant, especially since her finger that used to hold a wedding ring is now bare.

My reviews:

ebook – 5 stars

When I first saw the cover I was intrigued. The title had me thinking. After reading the book, I am impressed by the author’s ability of inviting me in this new world and making it so easy to stay for a while. The story is a balanced mix of suspense and romance, fast paced all the way thru. Damian’s family is hilarious, enjoyed seeing their close-knit relationship. Loved the fact that Kerry and Damian are mature characters that I can relate to, their relationship is fast developing but feels real. The other thing I liked is that I didn’t have a clue who the main bad guy was until almost the end, so had me turning the pages to find clues. It ends with a HFN which is satisfying. Looking forward to more in the future books in the series.

audiobook – 5 stars

Listening to the amazing voices of Ms. Newton and Mr. Fox was so much better than the voices I imagined when I read it years ago. Great choices. Ms. Barker! I really enjoyed their performance, Ms. Newton’s versatile voice, she does emotions and male voices with perfection; the sexy voice of Mr. Fox is oh so yummy and he gave all characters really great voices, male and female.
