Hello and welcome!
I am so happy on my first blog post of the new year to introduce a brand new author.
Please welcome Pépé G. Woodman!
A warrior of P.T.S.D., Pépé G. Woodman has opened up his lifetime experience in the wake of trauma. A carpenter for more than 30 years, he shares his love of nature and creativity on many levels, through crafting wood and photography.
Do you have a nickname?
Pepe is my nickname I’ve come up with that one many years ago during my DJing years. Also I started a band called the Tweed Twangerz and my name was Pepe.
My real name is Pierre Guignard. I came up with the G from my last name and Woodman cuz I love working with wood so altogether Pepe G Woodman was born or reborn as it were.
What is one word best describes you?
I would have to say the one word that describes me the best be “unfiltered”. 😀
What makes you laugh out loud?
A truly humorous yet clever jokes or someone’s laughter to a joke are my favourite that make me laugh out loud.
What is your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
My favourite smell would have to truly be fresh laundry from the line outside. It reminds me that I’m actually able to relax.
Favourite place to spend time in.
I absolutely love being in nature taking hikes discovering and taking photographs.
Is there a genre that you refuse to read?
I don’t per se refuse to read any type of genre, I enjoy reading for knowledge. If there is something I don’t know, I either ask somebody, or I do research and that consists of a lot of reading. If I have to go into various genres to find information, so be it. All writing is valuable.
Writing! What started it?
I was diagnosed with PTSD 6+ years ago. Looking at my photographs, the places that I’ve been made me reminisce about positive things I felt being in those places, so I began to start writing into the photos that I take. In doing so, I discovered I could actually write a book.
If you could choose another career what would it be?
I have never committed myself to one trade or work experience. I’m a man of many talents this I have finally accepted. I am a carpenter by trade, but if I had to choose another career, it would be a wilderness tour guide hands down.
Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?
The work that I do is carpentry or I problem solve and do home repairs and maintenance. For my clients I see satisfaction in their faces.
As for other works I create wooden rings and the message in my rings are all personal to the individual that owns one.
Who is your intended audience and why should they read your books?
My intended audience would be people with PTSD like myself, but hearing back from readers that purchased the book, I have discovered it can be for anyone.
What is next in your writing?
I truly would like to do part two of my first book. Maybe write my life story in the hopes that it would help all types of people of all races and of all genders.
Thank you Pépé for chatting with me and I am looking forward to the next book.

I hope you enjoyed the chat and will join Pépé in his writing adventure.
He made his debut at KaLiCon 2019 and was excited to be one of the ones that were there to congratulate and celebrate with him.
The Dragon Within: Healing Through A Lens In The Tranquility of Nature

Inside this breathtaking collection of nature in all its glory, Pépé includes a few extra blank pages for the reader to journal their own thoughts and reflections as they share this healing experience.
My review: 5 stars
I read the book over a few days and it was really good, such a heartfelt and inspirational story. It can be taken in small doses because it makes you think, at the same time, giving you hope that it can get better. As one suffering from PTSD, I found it helpful, enforcing the feeling that I am not alone. The photos were amazing, showing the tranquility in nature and the power of it over our psyche. The word play, coming up with positive words for the letters PTSD was well done. I recommend the book for anybody who likes photography and want to know more on one man’s struggle and continuous search for brighter days.

Pépé played Xavier Cross in the Murder Mystery Dinner theatre at KaLiCon and he was amazing. The play was based on the book Invited, A Dinner to Die For by Kali Willows and Kacey Hammell, there was one copy in the last giveaway on this blog 😉
Check out his website for all the awesome creations in wood here. I purchased a ring and then I won a second one in one of his giveaways on FB. Love them.
I would love to gift you, or a loved one who you think could benefit from this book, a copy of The Dragon Within. Tell me what you do to lift your spirits on a bad day. Sexy Mr. Random will pick the winner from the comments, after 3pm EST on Monday, January 6, 2020. GOOD LUCK!
Until next time… read a book, listen to a book and don’t forget to show your love by leaving a review!
