Hello and welcome!
As you probably know, I love helping new authors get the exposure through my little corner of the blogging world.
A Bright Light Out of a Dark Pandemic
9-year-old boy co-writes YA Fantasy book series
with his Auntie, USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Shannyn Leah
Kickstarter Campaign launches today, May 3rd, 2022.
Here’s a heartwarming story about a 9-year-old boy and his dream to co-write with his Auntie.
While the world pandemic closed many doors, it opened one for C.S. Cowell, a 9-year-old boy, to co-write and get lost in building a fictional world with his Auntie, a USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Shannyn Leah. Having a love of superheroes and storytelling at a young age, C.S. guided his Auntie into a world full of superheroes, superpowers, magic, and a clever black sidekick cat – inspired by C.S.’s own pet Ollie. When a real pandemic kept C.S. from being in contact with his everyday friends, he created a fictional world and friends to make him laugh.
In their fun journey together, C.S. and his Auntie developed a series of YA Fantasy books which they are thrilled to offer to both kids and young adults alike; where they too, can lose themselves in the world of Top Secret Superheroes. Just as C.S. and Shannyn did during the global stay-at-home mandates.
While originally planning to publish mainstream, they discovered an opportunity in launching a Kickstarter Campaign. For many reasons, not everyone can read books. A Kickstarter offers the prospect of hitting enough funds to be able to produce audiobooks for the first four books, which C.S. is thrilled to offer!
In exchange for pledging on this project, backers can access a variety of rewards including the first four eBooks for $40, an autographed paperback copy of the first four books for $120, or a year of Imperium-themed swag with the books starting at $365. Backers can also pledge an autographed copy to be donated to one of two local Christmas Toy Organizations (London Salvation Army Center of Hope or St. Thomas Christmas Care) for $30.

Every Imperium must accept whatever fate the Crystal Sorting Stones bestow upon them, but I didn’t ask for it. I’m not interested. I don’t want it.
Yesterday I was an ordinary foster teen living my best-boring-broke life on the edge of freedom, running from the law and stealing to survive. Today, I have superpowers and am being shipped off to a top secret world, enrolled in the Imperium Hero Academy, where they expect me to train and master my powers. All while being hunted by the darkest of all villains.
I didn’t ask for any of this.
Did I mention everyone flies in Imperium and I’m afraid of heights? Or the first time I used my powers I nearly killed an entire street of civilians?
An attack on the school reveals the headmaster and teachers aren’t telling me everything. As pieces of my past are revealed, more questions arise and I’m forced to wonder if I wasn’t brought to the academy for the sole purpose of becoming the next Hero Team.
I’ve made a goal: a year of my life to train and master my powers to help people from the human world I call home. What’s the worst that can happen?
Can I survive my year term and return to the human world I call home? Or will this world be the death of me?
The series sound promising and I hope you will support this budding author and make his dream come true. I know I am.
Until next time read a book, listen to a book and don’t forget to show your love by leaving a review!
