My Chat with Calum!

Hello and welcome!

My guest is somebody who I listed to not long ago and who is what my idea of a Highlander Laird would be.

Welcome! Welcome!

DAYUM Amy! He is delish!

What is your full name?
Calum Garbh MacLeod, 1st of Raasay

Do you have a nickname?
No fool-born cur would risk their neck with such an irreverent slur.

What is one word best describes you?

Describe what you are wearing now to our readers.
Same as always—a plaid pinned at my shoulder, shirt, brogues on my feet, hose to my knees, a broadsword at my left hip, dirk at my right, with a few daggers stashed where I can best reach them.
And he looks mighty fine too, I will be thinking DAYUM quite a few times today…

Do you think the author portrayed you accurately?
Och, aye lass. That’s why I allowed her to live.

What makes you laugh out loud?
A good yarn by my favorite bard—especially tales of my pirating adventures. his deep hearty laugh makes me laugh too

What is your favourite dessert?
Not a thing can surpass a plum tart.

What is your favourite drink?
Need ye ask? I’m a Scott, and a Highlander at that. A wee tot of whisky down the gullet sets me to rights after the evening meal.

What is your greatest fear?
I fear nothing. Calum leans forward But I’d kill anyone who threatens the Lady Anne.

What is your favourite colour?
Deep sea blue—the color of Lady Anne’s eyes.

What do you wear when you go to sleep?
The flesh the Almighty gave me.

What is the perfect romantic date?
What’s this? A date? Och, lassie a chieftain courts a woman—invites her to join him at the high table and showers her with fine food and drink, followed by dancing until we can dance no more.

How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish?
A chieftain would never admit to being ticklish, lass. But touch me beneath me ear, and ye might lose a finger or two.

What’s your favourite smell? What does it remind you of?
The scent of a red rose in spring reminds me of Lady Anne.

When you look at a woman what catches your interest?
Does she have honeyed tresses and eyes so clear she can see through to yer soul?

Do you have somebody in your life now?
Aye, since I met the Lady Anne, no other woman has turned me head—not a once.

What is one word best describes her?

Is your book part of a series? What does the future hold for the readers of the series?
Och aye, Captured by the Pirate Laird is the first in the Highland Force Series. Book two is about Bran, who becomes me Henchman—and the following two relay the tales of my sons, Ian and Alexander.

Captured by the Pirate Laird

As Calum mentioned, his story is Captured by the Pirate Laird, book 1 in the Highland Force Series by Amy Jarecky.

Wed by proxy to a baron old enough to be her grandfather, Lady Anne trudges up the gangway of a galleon that will deliver her into the arms of a tyrant. Crestfallen, she believes her disastrous life cannot get worse—until she awakes to the blasts of cannon fire.

Facing certain death, Anne trembles in her stateroom while swords clash and the chilling screams of battle rage on the deck above. When a rugged Highlander kicks in her door, she prays for a swift end.

But Laird Calum MacLeod has a reason for plundering the ship—and it’s not a stunning English lass. With no other choice, he takes Anne to his crumbling keep on the isle of Raasay and sends a letter of ransom to her husband. In time, Anne grows to understand MacLeod’s plight and finds it increasingly difficult to resist Calum’s unsettling charm—until the baron sends a reply agreeing to terms.

Ripped from passion that will be forever seared into their souls, will Anne and Calum risk everything for love?

Click on her name and check out the pictures she took while in Scotland *sigh* I especially like the one of Dunottar Castle.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Paul Woodson whose voice is just a delight to listen to and his Highland brogue… oh my! I am looking forward to listening to the rest of the series and check out the other books also.

Check out my review here.
